Bitumen lookouts? You'll be lucky to find a bitumen road down the west coast.
Last Tassie ride was in 2014 the sealed road terminated 10km to 15km south of Arthur River, where there's Coutta Rocks, a short ride over a sandy gravel tack will get you this:
We then had to U-turn because the gravel road down to Corinna was wash out, had to double back to Smithton (nice little bakery and local pies) and Stanley (scallop pies a specialty at the bakery).
Just south of the Arthur River bridge there's a road (500m of good gravel) to the End of the World lookout, worth the effort.
Back Road into to Stanley is also worth the effort.
The ride down the valley to Gunns Plains and then ride up the hill on the otherside was worth it too:
To get further down the west coast, we had to go to Wynyard and down the Murchison Highway. The Waratah pub had a good meal and view:
