Catching up with Gus and Jeff on the Friday, and John if he's there by then, at the Border.

I'll give you a wave as I go past. Should be home early Saturday evening with over 3000k under my belt.

So close.

We erred on the side of caution today. Leaving Byford around 10pm, heading for Eucla. With a combination of my riding partner shivering at Tammin and Southern Cross and my shoulder being really sore, we decided to redo the four hours we had already done and return home.
Four hours till we could thaw out or another seven to eight if we kept going.

There is always next year.

Always good to erre on the cautious side. The WA mob here said it got very cold on the way over. It was a touch chilly coming in from the other way as well. a storm cell with 100kph winds went through Nullabour, but we missed that. The wind Wednesday and Thursday was about the worst I have ridden in.

But it is all fun! Cold at BV overnight

Wombat, Hoffy and Turtle turned up at my place 8:45am, we departed at 9. Arrived Southern Cross around midday, Pezzz rocked in about 10 minutes later, Next stop was Norseman for RBT and fuel, Pezzz departed for Salmon Gums to get xtra 200k for his SS1600 and came back 5 mins later with over temp. The collective agreed the fan switch was faulty so fan was wired to earth enabling it when ignition was on, then he was back on the road.
The rest of us departed for our o/night stop at Balladonia around 7pm after a very chilly ride, Pezzz arrived about 10, chill factor was behind his decision to cancel the 1600. We all departed at 7am, fuel at Caiguna and arrived at Border Village around 2pm after organising accommodation at Eucla. Left BV around 5 for Eucla o/night and 7am departure on Sunday. Fuel stop at Caiguna had Pezzz strip his ST, coolant level was low from previous over heating issue. Next stop was Norseman for fuel where Wombat and Hoffy turned left for Esperance while Pezzz and I turned right to Coolgardie for o/night stop, Norseman Sunday night was -2.
Pezzz and I had an uneventful ride from Coolgardie to Tammin where we parted company with me arriving home at Midday, total distance for me was 2710k, used 133 lt of fuel for av of 20.25k/l.
It was a great weekend with good company.

Its a bit chilly in Tammin

Do you reckon that helmet will fit Hoffy? At Coolgardie and onward to Norseman

Pezzz's STead didnt make it to the Loo

salubrious quarters at Balladonia

What do you call a line of White STeads and one undercover?

We did our best to repell the blighters but Saaz was too strong

Where do you put your extra fuel???

Good trailer

Rest time on way back at Caiguna

As Yorkie has reported Hoffy and I went south towards Esperance. Just out of Grass Patch Hoffy collected a Kamakasi bird. No damage so off we went to Esperance. Just out of town I realized I had lost my riding glasses. They should have been on my face! Oh well expensive trip. We had a cruizer with us by the name of John FR MAYO. Found a nice spot family rooms sleeps 5. Good meals Sunday roast 3 course for $20 or a $12 Tee Bone. Tired but full we hit the sack and a sleep in. Up on Monday ready for a good breakfast, loaded the bikes but would not roll. Hoffy pointed out to me my rear was flat. The servo was just up the road so we rode really slow and pumped up the tyre. More anguish as steel belts were poking through. I didnt think it had been on that long but after investigation 17700kms on straight roads. Next problem where am I going to get a tyre around here. Honda shop 100 yards up the road and out the back in a container was a Pirelle Angel GT slightly bigger but it would do. The next heart attack was at the price but what can you do.

Check out the flat rear

Anyway decided to ring the Tavern at Grass Patch and the owner went and had a look for my glasses to no avail. With the added expense of the tyre we decided to back track the 70kms and check all the truck bays on the way. Eagle eyed Hoffy sighted them where we stopped right opposite the Tavern! All good but a fast and cold run home with the added risk of 20kms of roos just short of home. I dont mean one or two but dozens of the things. So to sum up I am now planning the next BR15 with excitement and a thankyou to all who participated especially the OZSTOC crew.
Just one last note Yorkie gets excited when the red comes out but what happens on the ride stays on the ride.
Cheers from Wombat  :beer
