When refueling at Norseman on my way to Toowoomba two cars pulled into the service station with trailers on the back. One trailer had four bikes and the other trailer a couple of bikes and a very small wooden boat.
Speaking to the drivers I discovered they run Bikes2u Courier Services.

I have just spoken to Dianne (045 7847 301) re transport to and from Perth next.
Without having exact details I think they may be able to help and would do some sort of bulk discounting. The most cost effective number of bikes would be 10 and they can do staggered pickups from your door step. So they may be worth talking to specially if there were some members who wanted their bikes taken to Perth just in time for the rally and others who wanted their bikes shipped back from Perth immediately after the rally.

Their web site is:-

Title: The Honda Shop - Bike Cartage

The Honda Shop
Address: 106 Morrison Road, Midland WA 6056
Phone:1800 466 321
Contact: Chris
Email: christian@hondashop.com.au

For people looking to have their bikes transported back to Perth, I have been speaking with Chris in the Spare Parts section at The Honda Shop.
Chris will get your details and be the contact person and will arrange prices for shipping as well as crating. It can take couple of days to get prices so please be patient.
The earlier you can let him know, the easier it will be to source the crates as that can be a bit of a hold up.
Not sure if he will be able to give a firm price this early but give him a call and see what he says.

My suggestion would be to ride over here, stay for the rally (and maybe the post rally ride if you can) and then have bike carted back from here. Sending from Perth is always cheaper than sending to Perth as for most trucks, the return journey is either back load or empty.

For those members thinking about riding one way and flying the other (freighting the bike) also consider:-

Monday 7th March Public Holiday in WA, Labour Day

Riding west to Perth you will be travelling with the sun and get more daylight hours, in the afternoon you ride directly into the sun
Riding east from Perth you will be travelling in the opposite direction to the sun, less daylight hours, in the morning you ride directly into the sun. Maybe stating the obvious but it makes a difference. Some rows of electrical tape across the top of your visor act as a good sun visor.

There are some funny time zone changes across the Nullabor.

Would also suggest if you are riding via Coolgardie use the Goldfields Rd (Old Goldfields Highway) and The Great Southern Highway to travel between Tammin and The BP at The Lakes via York. Much nicer riding than the Great Western Highway and less traffic.

Works a treat that

It'll be summer time in SA so you gain 1 hour 45 minutes at the border and another 45 minutes at Caiguna and lose it on the return trip.

Yorkie has asked me to put up the below. I have also added Chris's email to the post above with the Honda Shop Details.

Quote
Spoke <with Chris> about tyres being available for those who may need them, they keep stock for police bikes and can get a few more in if needed, they will use them on police if we don't use them, can also fit on Saturday morning if we give some idea of numbers a couple of weeks in advance so they don't fully commit to others.

So keep that in mind if you are riding over .... :like  They give us good discounts as well ...  ;-*

So for me and Danny hence two prices to ship back to Melbourne

I'm a little confused on by this.

289.34+GST per bike

$250 crate charge

Do you think that's 250 per bike? or for both

So 289.34+10%+125 = $443.27 to ship one bike back??? is that right?

Hey Marcus,
$250 is per bike. They want to get a bit more sturdy crate after my crate broke in transit.

If you wish to post excess items to the NatRally venue in Perth here is a address close to the venue.....

25. Albatross Loop Bennett Springs WA 6063

(Be sure to ID your package for collect)

Your items will be delivered to a central location at the rally venue for collection and you will need to pack and pay for their return to your home address after the rally.

All the usual conditions apply......All care but no responsibility on the OzSTOC Rally team etc  :thumb so pack your items well  ;-*

Or I will be Flying Perth/Sydney/Perth  10 to 12 Feb and again Mar 21/23 with plenty of luggage capacity. Both trips I will be staying at Emu Plains and driving to the airport so if you are in that general area I would be happy to assist.
