pretty much the same as I have found. Less noise mounted on the fairing as well.

I drove something like 5 or 6 thousand K's with the windscreen mount on the 1100 and it was great. This one is the full sized HD Stealth.

You can also see a lanyard tied from the suction cup to the screws for the screen, if you look close, for extra security. Found this a great mounting point with the remote for some clear footage.

Was happy with the footage I got from this position. Would love to see a gyroscopic levelling lens to get the real feel of riding through some twisties.

Brock any chance of this type of electrikery in your arsenal of knowledge? If not leap to it boy.

Stick the camera to your head, that usually stays pretty level.

Oh wait, that would imply that you were level headed.... cant have that now can we.. :)

I've been playing about with the exposure setting trying to stop the sky whiting out but it just ends up too dark, think i will leave it in standard setup and aim it down a bit.

Had a run upto Blackstone edge on Sunday twas a bit chilly and still some snow drifts here and there.


Hollingworth Lake to Blackstone edge.

Went over to Hebden Bridge then on to Todmorden and back down to Littleborough some great roads around these old Mill Towns.
All the video was a bit dark so won't bother with it.

Nice Keith - the Drift is certainly susceptible to minor aperture changes, commensurate with the surrounding light - but I think all cameras would have similar probs whilst riding South-East into a low sun. It did a good job under those conditions.

I realise it's Winter/Spring there - but the low sun shows me how far England is (longitudinally speaking), around the globe, or from the equator!

That low sun can be a bugger.

Another thing i noticed with the aperture altered the camera is constantly compensating for the light which makes the focus go in and out aswell.

Wow - great viewing once again thanks Keith!

Lens flare is - apparently EVERYTHING, as that sequence was crystal clear with great highlights and shadows.

Side note - I CAN'T BELIEVE you are allowed to park cars so that they infringe on the driving lanes! (such as at 1:35).

I realise there is no room, but there would def be "No Stopping" signs marked along that area in this country.

Keep 'em coming - we can't get enough.

Another side note... you will be glad to know that it has been getting noticeably cooler here, and the daylight hours noticeably shorter - great for you, crappy for us! lol

Cheers Diesel on the parking that is normal over here if the cars are on your side of the road you have to give way to on coming traffic.
A lot of the roads over here especially in the country side were originally single track for horse and carts and most houses built 100/150/200 years ago don't have a drive or garage. When the roads were made wider and tarmaced cars were scarce.

If you're in WA and interested, Drift UK will be running a stand at the York Motorcycle Festival this weekend. I called HurtleGear (from Bunbury) who are also helping them out on the stand. I had a lengthy chat to them (Dave I think) today. This might be my reason (/excuse) to go to York.

I got a Drift HD Ghost for my birthday yesterday and have just put a mount on the side of my helmet, under the headlight, and on the topbox.... they say to wait 24hrs for the sticky-glue to set/cure properly before loading it up with a camera.... so a ride tomorrow me hopes. I'll post "my first vid" tomorrow if I can.

I see that they are about to start selling the Drift Ghost-S. It can take video at full res at 60 fps.
In Australia a few places will be selling them at $479, but direct from Drift they are $399 ($au436 and delivery from U.S.).

I was just about to order the Drift Ghost HD but will hang off for now.

Just lashed out for the Ghost S, charging as I type. Must go get an SD card for it. The Stealth 170 has a stone chip on the lens, and a broken battery catch.. Will try some video tomorrow.

The good news is that the mounting hardware is all the same..

Micro SD (64Gig) fitted [about 10 to 28 hours of recording dpending on settings], firmware updated and battery charged (3.5 hrs of recording time.

All set to go.

Tried the Ghost s out on the ride in to work this morning at 0530is (the time stamp on the vid will be wrong). I had it set to low light, and I am impressed, the vision on the freeway is very good. At 1080P, 30 fps and low light, the battery gets eaten pretty quickly, it would probably last an hour. So for extended night riding I would go for external power.

I will edit the video down from 45 min and post a little later.

Here is a bit of Daytime video, mic needs to be set at min or off as its very sensitive.

There is an app available for Ithing and Android that allows you to connect to the camera via wifi and set it up, turn it on and see where its pointing. Very handy for setting up on the helmet to ensure the lens is set vertically, and pointed straight and not off to the side.
