Title: How waterproof is your waterproof gear?

Here's an interesting and reasonably objective comparison of a number of brands of waterproof motorcycle gear.

My own raingear is the following, which I always keep on the bike and put on if a decent rain threatens....

DriRider Thuderwear2 Hi Vis Jacket

My previous version of the same jacket lasted many years and was finally retired when the material showed pinholes in the areas where the fabric flexes a lot.

Ixon Thunder Rain Pants

There are dual layer 100% waterproof pants, which have velcro closures on the bottom, such that they can be put on withour removing my boots.   My previous pair of these also lasted many years, but gave up the ghost when the taped and heat sealed crotch seam weakened and pinholes appeared, wetting my arse in a big rain.

We just use something like this https://rainbirdworkwear.com.au/product/adults-base-set/

We bought from what used to be Trims in Adelaide ages (20 years???) ago. Still have the jacket but had to replace the pants a few years ago with a similar product from the local hardware shop.

At the time of purchase they cost around $15 each piece

Both our textile jackets are shower proof so the waterproof ones hardly get warn.

Bought my Bellstaff gear in 1977 and still wearing them.

I found my Bellstaff waxed cotton jacket and pants in the back of a cupboard in the garage a few years ago now; 30 years and 30kg, makes a big difference.
