St1100 pannier liners.
« on: February 19, 2015, 06:29:22 PM »
Hi guys,
Does anyone have fitted  pannier liner bags for sale or know where I might buy a set.  I am looking for a really good fit to maximise storage.
Needs to be waterproof.
Thanks
Carsten

Hi Carsten

Bestem USA make them, try this link

http://www.bestemusa.com/ST1100-_c_1234.html

and they seem to be on sale at the moment.

I have also seen them on ebay at times, but there don't seem to be any on there now.

Have never had a problem with leakage into my panniers. I don't have liners and have never experienced water entering the panniers during bad weather. Is my panniers unique, or standard? do others have seepage problems?

Never seen a pannier leak on an ST.  In SE Qld at present they might be a hazard because the bike might float away on them.     :eek

Never had any pannier leakage even in torrential tropical storms. I just use a pair of Lanza nylon bags I picked up at Strandbags for less than $30 each.

Ordered these simply so we dont have to detach the panniers each time.  I have no problems with leakage from the panniers.

And they're a lot more pleasantly soft in motels rooms etc.
Also, the wheel side of panniers gets very dirty- not nice to take inside and throw on a bed.

I got some a few weeks back from eBay and Glen bought back for me. Looking forward to packing them for Toowoomba. Just thought easier to pack liner in room and take to bike rather than taking panniers off everywhere.

Ordered these simply so we dont have to detach the panniers each time.  I have no problems with leakage from the panniers.

The only time my side cases come off is for a tyre change or other maintenance issues. Of course I don't use motels etc. and the door of my tent is only a step or two away from the bike.

Strange thing this is I bought some liners a few months back and they've only been used to put shopping in when coming back from a ride. I used to use some of the re-usable shopping bags before.
