After around 12 years of it hanging in the garage, I finally dragged the old push bike down yesterday and gave it a wash...

After pumping up the tyres and giving it the once over I figured I'd better drag out the helmet so I could take it for a spin.

Well, a lap around the block and I'd had enough...I'm too old, too fat & too unfit!

Does anyone want to buy a pushie, one careful owner and it's only been ridden to church on Sundays...

The reason I bought the bike in the first place was to lose weight!

It didn't work, I've put weight on since buying it...

Apparently you need to actually ride it...no-one told me that!!!

I've taken mine on the trains to the last station on the Belair and Seaford lines and ridden it home from there.

Couldn't resist the poke, the opportunity was too good.

Back to my original suggestion, try an eBike - it's the second best time you can have with your pants on. You don't need to outlay much in the way of $$ if you start on the bottom rung (fit a kit), you'll enjoy the ride, ride more often, the more you ride you'll gain more fitness (little by little) and perhaps shed to kg (little by little).

I fitted one of these kits for a mate a coupla years back, was an easy job.

Thanks for the info, Michael but I'm just not that keen...

We do have the Great Southern Rail Trail here but other than that I wouldn't be game to ride one on our crap roads.

Funnily enough I actually had an e-bike that I inherited from my brother but it was in need of a new battery so I ended up giving it to a friend.

Over the past few years they've managed to ride most of the rail trails throughout Victoria, but were talking of a revisit to the GSRT, so perhaps my wish will be fulfilled soon.

As for the bakery (Kellys), it's been ages since I've eaten there as I usually go to the other bakery in town...well, when I wasn't trying to lose weight!

Speaking of, I've now lost 7½ kgs since I started a month ago...

FYI, I just had the ex over, which reminded me of her new bike. 15 years ago it was new. More actually. Moved out of Bayswater in 2016, and cleared out the shed, just to find this bike that she "had" to have, was way over 15 yr old and hadn't done 1 mile. In pristine condition, minus the dust, went out on hard rubbish. Nuff said.
What could go wrong?

That's what I ended up doing with mine. I got Sue to advertise it on Marketplace.
A few people looked at the ad but there were no enquiries, then out of the blue a woman rang asking about it.
She wanted it for a French student that was staying with her.
She came that afternoon and bought it, no haggling or nuthin' and I was $100 richer!
