Most of those pics in the link aren't really that off road.

Five pics were made roads though dirt but doable on an ST with care.

I would recommend trying a GS, or any other BMW boxer.  I have a 1150GS and have ridden the previous model 1200GS and GSA, as well as a few other models.  I found I needed a few rides to 'get' the bikes, but once I clicked with them they make a lot of sense.  Really excellent road bikes (BMW boxers in general). 

I think I would find a GS sized hole in my savings account if I were to try the new one.
