Hi,

I will be riding through Baccus Marsh, stopping at the servo near maccas if anyone is going that way, and wants to group up for the ride through Geelong and down the Great Ocean?

I will be there about 10am.

J

I'm planning to ride through Bacchus Marsh around 9:00am, but rather than head to Geelong and then the GOR will be taking an alternate scenic route.

https://goo.gl/maps/reAgorS3snQ2

Will hopefully be meeting a couple of mates at Bulla.  Then can meet at Bacchus, if that suits.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Afterlife, up there for the climate, down there for the company.
If I'd known I was gunna live this long, I woulda looked after myself better

I used to take this route A LOT... A LOT of straight single lane roads, you can really open up on.

Hi, I am not sure I can make it to Bacchus Marsh that early, I have to get down from Woodend, and gotta sort the kids out first before I leave.

That route looks similar to the one I plan to take on the way back, with a few nice sweeping bends as well.

I will be leaving Portland around 7.30 am Sunday. Should be in Lorne around 11.30am, allowing for around a 20 minute refreshment break at Colac on the way.

What time I leave will depend on what time I wake up.  I'll probably go through Colac on the way.  If don't I've made a wrong turn.

I've booked for 20, but Phil and Nigel are late possibles, but I'm not concerned (nor I'm sure they) with a couple of extras.  Lorne Hotel has confirmed my 20 lunch booking.

I advised that people will arrive from 12:00pm on, we'll sit down to lunch around 12:20pm - 12:30pm, order by around 1:00pm, but this can of course be later.  For any early birds, the table is booked for OzSTOC.

For those coming from Robe, Kev has advised the GoogleMaps indicates a 5 hour ride, but please don't rush, the Hotel website indicates Bistro hours are 12.00noon to late, 365 days a year, so there's no need to rush for a meal.

Looks like we're in for a nice day, 25C, little chance of rain, and a gentle on shore breeze.

See yuse all tomorrow.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Sad to hear that, especially as it was your post that made me think I could do two RTE's in as many states in under twenty four hours.  I've settled in to my accommodation at Terang.

Food was great, as was the food at Robe last night.  No Guinness at Lorne despite it being St Paddy's day so didn't drink anything today.  Just as well I had two pints at Robe last night.

Safe at home, I just got in the door about 15 mins ago.

That sun in the eyes all the way home was a pain.
