i am no ST1100 expert (as I have ST1300) but... is that the bolt that supports the rear shock?   :think1

Hang on and I shall FUEL up and DASH out to the shed in my SPEEDOs and see if I can grab a clue that my INDICATE to me the part posted....the TEMPERATURE is a little fresh tonight, and its dark so I will take the torch with the HI BEAM.

That's a dangerous looking guard dog you have there  :eek I imagine a burglar could trip over him and cause themselves all manner of horrific injuries...... :think1  :p
