C'mon guys. We have a BMW rider in our ranks, a nicer gentleman you won't find.
It's like saying all 4 X 4 owners are arrogant road hogging SOB's. I've just bought one and trying to learn the craft.  :rofl :rofl

There's a "Craft"?  I thought a course in bulldozing would be all that's required.    :-(((

Only because they are such EASY targets!  :rofl :crackup

We were discussing this very subject this morning, whether the uniform (big gut, bandana, jeans riding 1/2 inch above the hip bones, big boots, leather vest, bald patch and straggly pony-tail) is a requirement for owning a Harley, 'cause let's face it the 'look' really is a uniform. If you were to walk down the street in this get-up would some grizzled Harley rider approach you and say "You need to buy a Harley mate, you already look the part!"??? >:()
Cheers,

Did anyone else see the article about the top of the line Aprilia in today's paper?  It's $40K, but what's not metal is carbon fibre.
And it saves weight by having a lithium battery!

I obviously wouldn't buy one- got all the horses and adrenalin surge I can handle.  But I thought the battery technology was interesting.

Good onya Biggles.... I once looked into 'alternative power sources' and picked up a nickname for it!      :rofl

So I'm looking on the Qld Transport website to see what a personalised number plate would cost......

I'm  :think1       "DIESL"         :thumbsup

Guess what.............

$2000.00                   :eek

So it became an easy decision........

BUGGER THAT!

What's your number plate say?

My kids bought mine for a birthday- you know the old story, "You've already got everything!"
So they chipped in with Missus Biggles.  Cost $450 I think, to get my initials and birth year.  I wouldn't have paid it myself- that's a pair of tyres and a bottle of Scotch!!

In Qld for a bike, for that money, you get 3 letters and 2 numbers or 2 letters and 3 numbers. It can be numbers first or letters first.
I got WEP49.

When I registered mine it came with OFL-53, which I thought was appropate as I was 53 at the time, and the ST felt like an Old Fat Lady after my previous ride (a 500 single).   :whistle     But please don't tell her as she might get upset and stop or fall over on me.  >:()

Did you know.... that if you're like me, and love the good old days of the Group C Big Bangers hooking in around the ATCC of yesteryear - Youtube is your good friend. It seems to contain most of the action we remember watching in the halcion days of Brock V Johnson, Moffat, Fury, Richards, French, etc etc. Toranas, Commodores, Monaros, Coupe Falcs, Mustangs, Bimmers, Bluebirds, Camaros

Here's two samples...

1984 ATCC Sandown Rnd 1 Part 2

1977 ATCC Rnd 5 Sandown Part 1

Knock urselves out!

I have lost interest in car racing. Just not the same anymore. Especially Bathurst and not even sure if they still run it over the labour day weekened anymore. We did go in '86 before they ruined conrod straight and put a kink in it.

The Navy also had their 75th (?) anniversary the same weekend and the US battle ship Missouri was in Sydney as well.

Production bikes at Bathurst at Easter time used to be good to watch on TV as well.
