G'day STriders and good wishes 4 the festive break.
I have a little, albeit irksome problem with the STeed:Wyvern the Dragon 1300 recently went thru a rego check 2 discover that the hazard lights no longer work.
It was the first time they were tested in a cupla years and I had 2 weeks 2 find the cause b4 the roadworthy xpired.
So I researched our site and the US site and double-checked the appropriate fuse and relay and I can guarantee that they r ok. There is no fuse specifically 4 the hazard lights but instead the apt fuse is on the blinkers.
The blinkers work. However, if the system is switched on, the blinkers work but then, if the hazard light switch is engaged while the blinkers are flashing, the blinkers will stop working and will not work again until the the system is shut down and then restarted.
I contacted Atoyot about the problem and he had a ST1300 2003 switch system and relay from his write-off wreck and gave it 2 me 2 test. Turned out all his connections used a different plug configuration and after I carefully rewired the plugs, found that his switch system did exactly the same as my switch system.
In other words, Atoyot's switch cluster did exactly the same as mine - no hazard lights - so the chances that both switch clusters r faulty is slim but not impossible.
So my switch, fuse and relay r ok which only leaves the wires between the switch and battery but I can't see any sign of damage 2 any of these lines. However this seems 2 b the only option left or does any1 have another idea or 2.
I got Wyvern thru the roadworthy by proving the blinkers work and the inspector forgot 2 check the hazards again - so I need it 100% 4 next time and of course it is preferable 2 have the hazards working again.
Electrickery brains required... (Mine r xhausted)
Christmas Cheers 2 all.
HO-HO-HO!!!
