A Picnic at Hanging Rock - RTE, Sunday 10 February 2019
« on: December 04, 2018, 09:12:01 PM »
The brains trust, Garry, Neill, Rex and I discussed this one at the Woolamai RTE last Sunday.  The general consensus was (as I understand it) was:
  • We will have a Picnic at Hanging Rock - this comes with a bit of baggage, ie there is an entry fee to the Hanging Rock Reserve, eg. Car: $10.00, Minibus: $20.00, Coach: $50.00, Motorbike: $10.00 and Pedestrian/cyclist: $4.00
  • There is a booking fee (minimum of $84) if we want to reserve a BBQ / tables / seating / pavilion area.

Neill explained along the lines of, if we get 20 attending cost per person will be around $10 each.

Please note the date and location have been selected because they align with the availability and wishes of some interstate guests who JD & Vera are hosting during the Victorian visit.

So, please indicate your preference by voting above.  Each forum member will get two votes; one to indicate their and another their partner's preference.  The poll will close Christmas Eve.

I will go with whatever the poll reveals. I dont mind the additional cost as its a one off and not huge.

If we dont go to Hanging Rock do we have an alternative. Eg Bakery at Woodend or similar.

RTE - Sunday 10 February 2019 - Radio Springs Hotel Lyonville
« Reply #5 on: December 09, 2018, 07:10:40 PM »
Okay!

There's a change, this event will now be at the Radio Springs Hotel, Lyonville (subject to booking confirmation).   A separate thread with all the usual type details will be posted once booking is confirmed, otherwise I will need to source another venue.

There will be no OzSTOC Picnic at Hanging Rock on this day (as the Hanging Reserve was already booked).

Not to worry, we can fulfill our Queensland guests' wishes to visit Mount Macedon, meet at the summit car park, walk to the Memorial Cross (at the summit) or sit (with me) and have a coffee in the Top of the Range Café Tea Rooms, before we ride (drive for some) on as a group (or individually) to Lyonville.

So we know when, all we need is to confirm where.  So put this date in your calendars.

The reason the Hanging Rock Reserve is booked out is because the Macedon Ranges & District Motor Club are having their 32nd Annual Classic Car Show on 10 February.  The MRDMC's webpage indicates that the ACCS is one of the biggest in Victoria with over 1,600 exhibitors last year.

At $5 entry per motorcycle, I might backtrack via Hanging Rock on the way home.
