A big THANK YOU to all those involved in the organization of the Inverell weekend. 
Great to be able to put faces to names, and check on other bikes. Bring on the next one.

Likewise from us. We had a great weekend and as previously said, it was nice to put some faces to names.
We arrived home about 5:45 all intact after a long haul back via Bonshaw, Tenterfield, Casino, Lions Road and finally Nundah ....... and the hot spa is looking good .....

Yes I second all the comments in relation to the organisation that went into the weekend , good work Streak. Took my time coming home , had a good look at Tenterfield  ( there actually is The Tenterfield Saddler shop made famous by Peter Allans song ) also had a good look at Stanthorp , great lttle towns with heaps of history.
Only one complaint I now want some aftermarket pipes after seeing a couple at Inverell, ah well its only money and you cant take it with you.

aj1300 (adam) and I left at 8:00am and traveled to singleton via thunderbolts way, Windsor via the Puty road, and then onto the M7 and straight down the Concrete to Goulburn.

Total for me was 823 km (my speedo reading) in exactly 11 hours (sorry a little slow for some of you) But what a bloody good ride it was.

Adam is still riding and is hoping to get to the Vic border to camp.

Heirachy Question Time - Will this qualify for a far ride either 1000 km or 1200 km if he gets a receipt before he camps tonight??????  Or did he need to register the attempt before starting ???

Woops I nearly forgot - Thanks to Adam especially for his great company in the past 3 days as a riding buddy and for helping me pick up the bike off the petrol station forecourt in Goulburn when I got off with out the stand down..... (no damage to bike at all  ).

What can I say! For a normally retiring and solitary sort of bloke, I had fun! (sounds like I am easy to please, doesn't it, but actually I'm not). I did a total of (round trip) 966Km by my odo. Great countryside, good roads. I came back up through Ashford and East on the Bruxner Hwy across to Lismore, then almost to Ballina, and up the motorway back to Burleigh Heads. What a blast. I too want to thank those who put their time and effort into organizing this RTE - count me in for another when the time comes please. Great to meet all of you and a special thanks to Adam for making the bunk available. That put me outside my comfort zone a bit - not a bad thing for an old bloke like me!
I got back to find my better half has booked us into a place in Cairns for 7 days, but only an airfare for her. I have her blessing to ride to Cairns and I might then continue on to Darwin (never been there, nor Cairns) and then down through the guts to Adelaide to visit relatives, then to Melbourne to visit grandson and others, then home to BH. Why? - Why not?

I am afraid to say that we don't do all those distance FarRide things..that is for organised FarRide events (oh yes, I am a member of FarRiders as well and have done a few).  We are more into get together, share things, have a good time (not to say that we don't do that on FarRides as well!).  Stay tuned as we can organise Ozstoc get togethers on the back/in conjunction with future FarRides (or other events like the Border Run etc) so you can do both together..something to look forward to!

Just to add to John's info.  The Australian FarRiders only "certify" rides that terminate at their RTEs.
At any time you can plan and execute a ride for the IBA certifications, which are done independently of FarRide Australia.
They might be done enroute to an OzSTOC event, and someone at the event could be your Finish Witness.  You can read the rules at

the ride home through Ashford and Bruxner Highway along side the NSW QLD border through to The MOLE, Clifton, Leefield and on to Tenterfield for a coffee and chat, is a ride to be done more often, AND a one and a half hour or so  trip,
