Heather and I are doing a ride to Silverton and maybe doing this as an overnighter so we're inviting anyone else that would like to attend

hmmm, sounds interesting Alan. Might have my bum broken in by then and it would be good to get away. Picked up my bike from Wallaroo last weekend and the 160k home felt like enough for now, but love it anyway :-)

That's the NSW/Qld Ozstoc overnight dates (yes I looked it up to see if I could come!) Wish it was few free days as I would come.

We did a 900 km ride back to Smithfield Plains from Bendigo via the Riverland when we picked up

I'm there on the 9th! Damn it!

I'm doing my own little 'Mad Max Filming Locations' tour whilst there. As you may/may not know, Mad Max II - Road Warrior scenes were filmed here (Opening scene, and truck smash/rollover scene to name just two).

I have hit an "Oh crap!" moment.

Have been putting this ride in as a definate when it occured that on the 15th I will have to be at a wedding. I am greatly disappointed as I would love to do this ride and see the Mad Max museum and Silverton. Sorry Allan looks like we will have to catch up on another ride.

Broken Hill is more South Australian than it is New South Wales, and is even on SA time, so of course it should be flagged as an SA event.

Wont be making this trip on this weekend as previously indicated so it will be unfortunate (for me) to miss out on catching up with the SA members and discuss the National Rally. So please keep me in the loop and let me know what you want me to do. Will at least be getting to Silverton the weekend before with the Diesel Trip

I'm not sure as to what we're doing yet. Heather wants to take here bike and I'll be limited to her speed while she is still on 'L' plate. I have to get her used to riding in traffic around here before we get to Silverton turn off in Broken Hill. So you might even pass us on the way up.

I hadn't given the hotel much thought but it might save us the hassle of fixing a meal at our tent site.

The Hotel is WALKING DISTANCE from Penrose Park CP (via a short cut on the property).

A 10 person cabin can be rented for $80.

although the bike is coming back together nicely after its paint job and i get the seat back on the 14th with a lambswool cover and all, i am only getting the stiches out of my foot on the 13th, so leaving on the 15th might be a bit too much for me - but ya never know :)
