Immaculate 08 ST1300A For Sale
« on: February 07, 2013, 07:34:03 PM »
After much soul searching I've decided to sell my immaculate 08 ST1300A.  I bought a DL1000 as an entry level adventure bike and I've fallen in love with it.  I simply can't justify having 2 bikes and have hardly ridden the ST since I bought my Vee last October.

My ST has been fastidiously maintained, always garaged and covered.  I have detailed maintenance records which includes receipts for all expenses.  The bike is an 08 model but was first registered in 10/09.  I am the only owner and have used it mainly for touring.  Cosmetically, the bike is virtually unblemished and mechanically excellent.  It has never been dropped.

The sale includes the following extras:

-  Professionally built Wilbers Rear Shock and Front End.
-  Spare Racetech rebuilt OEM Rear Shock
-  Sargent seat + OEM seat
-  Heated Grips
-  Radguard
-  Fender Extender
-  Helibar Risers
-  Headlight Protector
-  Eaglescreens Summer Screen (almost new) + OEM windscreen
-  Whalans Rear LED "Back Off" light
-  Bestem Bag Liners for panniers and top box

The bike is fitted with Dunlop Roadsmart II tyres which have about 50% tread left.

I will throw in a brand new Classic Trailer tow bar which I never attached worth $425.

NSW Registration until 11/10/2013.

Odometer: 60527 Km's

Asking $10990 ONO.  Please PM in interested.  I have not advertised elsewhere yet.  Please see some attached photos.

Cheers,

Tony

What a shame!  Great looking bike, brilliant extras, very fair price.  I too hope it stays in the family.
All I can say is I approve of the Strom and know why you're leaving the best sports/tourer.  The Strom has to be the best adventurer in its class.
So we'll see you sometime when you ride across the highway like a @#$% kangaroo changing paddocks.

Kym needs one but she doesn't have any bike license... If only the CB sold I'd happily keep 2.

GL with the sale, whoever takes it will be very lucky and pleased.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.  It has been my pride and joy so I've treated it accordingly.  I had a really hard time putting a price on this bike.  I will lose a fair bit of money on this bike but I would rather sell it than see it sit in the garage wasting rego/insurance waiting for a top dollar buyer to come along....so I guess that's the trade off.  It's comprehensively insured for $15,700.

I spent a small fortune on suspension mods, it rides like new and has been over serviced re filters and lubes.  It has to be seen/ridden to be fully appreciated.  Plus there are other spares I haven't listed.  Someone will get a very nice bike!

Cheers,

Tony

Damn!  I wish you'd stopping talking about it!  Nothing wrong with my Ruby, but it would be great for her to have a brother.

I have never seen this bike in person or meet the owner, however......when i look at an item forsale from a photo I look past the item in the surrounds of the the photo.....this will REALLY tell you how this item has been looked after......what ever it is.

In this pic, look at the manicured lawns and gardens....spotless stain free driveway....the mat under the centre stand....the dry driveway (bike hasn't just been washed for a pic).....etc etc.  :popcorn

This bike has truly been looked after.....like everything else the owner takes pride in. :-++

Now how can i convince Mummy i need a spare ST in the shed !!!!!

MAN UP !!!!! get out from under the bed stand tall......and with a firm stare, stiff upper lip look her square in the eyes and say.......

You are right and all ways have been.....I am wrong and allways will be....I love you and would like to now go to my room and reflect upon my attitude and will accept what ever punishment you feel needed.

Sad that the bike is going Tony, but as you said at Rylstone it is just not getting used.  Wish I knew it was available a few days ago, as a mate just went down to Tassie to pick up an 08 model..I had better not tell him about yours now

It's always the way John!

On the bright side I'm not in a huge hurry to sell it.  I've got another bike to ride and the ST still has a fair bit of rego left on her.  I've given it a final detail, sorted out all the spares and paper work, and now hopefully I'll find a buyer who can give her a good home!  :'(

Cheers,

Tony

Not at all, considering that you'd have a spare of Everything Else, including a 2nd std seat!

Tony, that is a great price for such a well sorted bike. I don't think that you'll have to wait too long for a buyer to come along and jump at it.

As I mentioned earlier Andrew I really battled to come up with a realistic price for this bike.  ST enthusiasts and experienced bike owners appreciate that a well maintained big bore bike with 60 K has not even reached the halfway point in its life but for a lot of other riders they'll baulk at it!  So I've thrown in a lot of goodies and reduced the price accordingly so it's competitive.  It really is a bargain!

Cheers,

Tony
