2004 ST1100
« on: March 21, 2013, 11:34:48 AM »
Stopped to tag a bloke in Bingara NSW on way back from Middleton.
He has a  Aug 2004 blue beastie with just over 30k on the clock that he wants to sell ( instead of joining Ozstoc)
Awesome condition except for the dust from sitting around the garage. Not even a mark on the rubber bump stops from a tip over.
Has a corbin seat and top box and a control box for a intercom.
When I figure out how to will post a couple of pics.
His details are Alf Ellevsen 0457388657
He doesn't have a computa or any of the new tech stuff. Older gent who likes like he needs a dollar.
Having a garae sale this weekend with Aria and Shoei helmets for sale both larger and older models.
Never under estimate the predictability of stupidity.

That is a nice looking bike, and might be a great buy for someone at the right price.

'04- good.  30000 kms- good.  Undamaged- good.  Corbin seat- a plus.  Top box- great.

It's worth that money to someone who really wants it...
But there are a lot on the market that are cheaper.

He's stuck with it then.
Until it becomes a Classic collector's item.  If he's still around and the bike hasn't decayed in his barn.

How can this be a 2004 model? I thought the last of the 1100's was 2002 with the police model going for a year or two after then. Mine is the same blue as the one in the photo and it is 1999.

Hmmm - nice bike all the same!

Sorry mate.  Trust you'll get ironed out.

Very sharp there Bluey.  And you're right, of course.  Saaz would be able to confirm whether that blue is unique to 1999.  What did you pay for yours, Blue, and how does the bush bike compare?

Both the 1100 models (1100 & 1100A) where both blue and red from 1999 until the last one in 2002.

2003 might have been the real last ST11s, and police models at that.  Confusion arises from when they were produced vs when they are first registered.

As for colours, hard to be definitive.  I have not come across information that gives all the colours for outside the US market.  The blue is not at all common, and as it came out in the year the gold limited editions ones were sold it may be just as rare.  In the US they just mention red.

BTW, I just realised I have a PDF of the brochure that details all the limited edition 50th anniversary colours for various Honda models.  The Gold ST11 is the first one listed.

So it seems the Midi Blue Metallic was available in Oz right up to 2002.

I bought my 99 1100A last year in June. No top box, but in almost pristine condition (a couple of boot scratches and what may have been a bird strike) with 36,000 on the odo. I paid $7100. It now has over 60,000 on the odo!
