saw this on gum tree

Saw this on Gum Tree   http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/murray-bridge/motorcycles/honda-st-1100/1037195024 and wondered what people thought ..... is it a good deal considering the age of the bike is a 95 modle.  Its 6500 for the combination or 5500 for the bike alone.

Price is pretty good, trailer may be over priced slightly. Bike is coming due for timing belt change,, looks tidy though.

I look at it from this angle:

$5,550 for the ST1100, is this good value or not?  Depends on how much will need to be spend on it (other than routrine servicing and maintenance) over the next few years (depends on how long you keep it), and what's the resale value.  This is like what's the length of three or four pieces of string?

$1,000 for the trailer - this is a couple of more pieces of string.   In discussion elsewhere on the Forum about trailers I mentioned a 17 year old Classic trailer I purchased for $1,200.  Someone mentioned I paid too much, perhaps I did.  But after a few years and thousands of km, I sold it for $1,200.  I'm not sure how long that piece of string was, but it was right for me.

I think that is on the high side considering the rego is nearly up. What about scrolling down the page, same model, same colour, less K's and $4,800. Further down blue one for $4,000.

A mate just bought a 95 a lot cheaper. Had 140,000 km on the clock. Reckon between 3 & 4K is fair.

thanks all very much for the replys and PM's.

I love I have found a club that is so supportive of nwebies.

the consensus is that it is on the high side for age so will have a chat and see ...... but i will definitly be looking elsewhere and trolling through the forum for sales like a troll with gold fever.

Cheers again
