The first part is according to the Google maps machine (I can see painted lines)... hard to tell on the back half of the trip though

Hope it is, I'll be up that way in a weeks time and wondered about that bit of road. If the dirt is firm and not too long it still might be worth a look. After doing the Bonang on the Blackbird a few years ago a little dirt is OK although my brother may disagree, he fell off his trumpy and broke his ankle.

Will wait for your report Jimwilly :beer enjoy :thumbsup

Hi Chris the road is sealed., good ride through to Falls Creek ,through to Whitfield some nice and corners and good country :blk13

There's some conflicting information and confusion here, and it would probably best for Chris to post the actual route he's wanting to ride.
The road from Omeo to Anglers Rest to Falls Creek to Tallangatta is all sealed, at least it was when I rode it a few years ago.
But I'm not sure the road from Anglers Rest to Mitta Mitta to Tallangatta is sealed all the way. I have not ridden it, but a mate (usually reliable) did ride it recently (around October 2013) and he advised that it wasn't sealed all the way. I doubt VicRoads or the Shire would have it sealed yet.

Yeh my friend Lisa thinks the Mitta to Tallangatta road has 4-5kms of dirt, but reckons its good enough to get thru without any hassle if its dry

Sounds like I'll be having a look, My mate is'nt at all keen on dirt riding but if I do'nt tell him he will just have to grin and bear it.
I'll post a ride report when I get back, I did one a few years back for the 2 wheels forum, had to get my daughter to post the pics as I had no idea.

I don't mind at all, as long as there is a Baskin Robbins or a David Jones at the end off it :Stirpot

The Vicroads ap on my phone has a warning on the C543 of work delays of 6 to 10 minutes on the construction sections weekdays only...from Lightning Creek Rd Mitta Mitta to Bogong high plains Rd Glen Valley...completion is for 30th June this year.
Perhaps we could postpone the Meet a Ballarat until July Wot thuh

Thank you for all your advise guys, it's helped plan our ride through here :like

I can feel a High Country ride coming on mid week later in the year. It would be great to do a loop ride all around there.
