Dargo High Plains Rally 2015
« on: July 23, 2015, 09:46:35 PM »
11-13 September 2015

Held at Talbotville, around 30km from Dargo - https://goo.gl/maps/X3Gq7 - Warning, this route is not ST friendly

Phil and I are planning to leave Friday, overnight somewhere civilised on the way, plenty of Saturday night lubrication, home Sunday.

Possible routes to and / or from:

https://goo.gl/maps/prlBc - this one depends on the Dargo High Plains Road being open at the Hotham end.

More details here: http://www.motorcycleralliesaustralia.com/sep2.html

Recommended mode of transport is:

Views on the ride in are spectacular:

The site is busy and the company is great:

Post if you are interested.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Motorcycling, the best time you can have with your pants on.
eBiking, the second best time you can have with your pants on
Afterlife, up there for the climate, down there for the company.
If I'd known I was gunna live this long, I woulda looked after myself better

Sounds interesting but bad timing for me. Perhaps another day.

I'll provide a bit more notice for 2016.

It is a top spot, albeit in a valley (the track falls around 800m down to the Crooked River, over the last 5km).

I will just be back from 6 weeks away, and the Wall to Wall ride is on that weekend. I should start noting all the rallies that are on as well, as haven't been to one for years. Then in between everything else that is on, I may be able to make a few.

Just a couple of more pics from the 2014 Dargo High Plains Rally to whet the appetite:

There's adequate room for camping.

There's a river to cross, if you come that way.

Like this guy did.

There's some good company.

Surely some OzSTOCers (other than me) are interested.
