Hi,
Just trying to find somewhere i can get a new key cut for the ST, tried a few places and they dont have the blanks. I am trying to avoid over the top prices.

Any ideas??

The easiest thing to do is order a key over the net, then take it to a key cutter.

I contacted David Silver Spares to replace mine in April last year. There are some on E-Bay but I prefer the OEM key look rather than an after market one.

They supplied the part number after I emailed them a photo of my key. I've just done a check and copied the info from the site. I doubt if the postage would be that great as it's something that might go in a normal envelope.

I went to a local locksmith who had a blank and cut some keys from the key number.  make sure that the key has the shoulder cut so that it can operate the steering lock. First time it did not, but may have been the inexperience of the bloke who did it first.

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions. I let my fingers do the walking both on the phone and computer.

Apart from overseas web orders, Honda dealership had the blanks for $31+ and I got a quote from peter stevens for $23+. Did a bit more searching and found out that Locksmith Supply Company in Nth Melb can supply the blanks, but only to dealers.

In the end rang a few locksmiths that eventually got onto Expert locksmiths in Hadfield.
Had 2 keys cut for the grand total of $24.
The guys were friendly and even made sure the keys worked in all 10 locks on my bike.

 If you take the 3 digit number which is the same on all the key barrels (if none have been changed), most reputable locksmith can replicate 1100 keys easily...and the lock over the fuel cap is easily sprung to reveal the number :thumb...

....Sooo, how simply is it to nick an ST1100 :eek

Just a thought..
