Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota fits the description but is northeast :H

West of there.

Or Lake Louise, Alberta Canada? :H

South of there.

Or Williamson Lake, Revelstoke BC?🤓

South.

More clue please Sir Michael 🤓

In the 40's, when they flooded the lake, a few towns were submerged.  This pic was taken above one of the submerged towns.  The town had the name of a stone fruit.  But don't give me that name, the nearest town now has a different name.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Some phrases or words to include in a Google search; flooded towns, Grand Coulee Dam.

Correct!

 :clap

Inchelium and Keller survived. Boyds, on the backed-up lower stretch of the Kettle River, is a single business and a few houses. Lincoln became a boat launch. Peach and Gerome vanished.

The pic was taken next to the Lincoln boat ramp.

Helen and I are currently touring the USA and CAN, called into see and stay with ToddC (a colleague from ST-Owners, a US based ST forum) and Kari (his wife).  Todd generously loaned me one of his three ST1300's for the day, we went for a ride, hence the pic.

Hint to other OzSTOCer's:  Befriend our US colleagues, you never know what may eventuate.

Phew!  I'll have to wait until I get home until I can post the next photo.

p.s. is there a ruling on overseas photos?  I do have a few of them.

Oh dear, wot have I started?

O/S pics would be okay (I have plenty), but ..... perhaps they should be restricted to ST Pics.

Quote from: spanner on December 05, 2016, 01:58:28 PM.  ok .... a new game.

the idea is to provide a photo of your STeed in front of something iconic ..... or 'easily' identifiable and the person who guesses correctly gets to either post a photo themselves OR nominate someone to post a photo.

sooo .... to start the game off here we go with something relatively simple .....

Where is this? End quote.

I think we need to look at the idea of this game!!!!!!

No pic. I just think we are getting off the track a bit and that the intention was that you would know a place as you had been there or be able to work it out without too much brainpower or technology.

To be fair he did say he had been there (and I've only posted photos I have taken myself).

Anyway, here's the next installment:

Looking at the hills in the back ground, the iron ore bucket over the rail car. I would say Broken Hill.

The ST is there, it's in front of the camper trailer in front of Mrs W.  You can just see the RHS mirror.
