Training Day
« on: December 01, 2018, 04:38:25 PM »
I rode in a Training Day last month at the Brisbane Mt Cotton track.
Always good to work on the skills.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

When I worked for Brisbane Transport they took us down there for a training day in the buses.  Most fun I have ever had at work.

I've done stage 1 & 2 for semi trailers in the 90's. Was fun with a tanker on the skid pan.  :grin

Drove through the skid pans in the bus, asked if I could do it again, was told no.

I wore this t-shirt on the day and was asked by one of the trainers what it said.  I explained it and it  was having a dig at political correcntess going to far (was late 90's or 2000) and he told me they weren't allowed to called witch's hats "witch's hats" because it was offensive and had to use the terminology "traffic marking device" or something to that effect.

That shirt is almost in tatters but I got twenty years out of it.

Biggles, I know you did tell me, but I have a short little span of attention. When are these held? I reckon I could put this on my Christmas or birthday list.
A man rides on his STeed, says “Why am I short of attention? Got a short little span of attention”.

You can call me Steve, with apologies to Paul Simon.

I did this one on that occasion:

There were 6 of us from CMA and we got a $50 group discount.

I actually find the HART ones more professional and would do theirs next time, probably late in 2019:

Updating ridign skills will always be a good way to spend a day.    Unfortunatley we don't have much on offer anymore here is SA, and I can't find anything on the trainers that I went to a few years back.   :'(
