Kev Murphy:
Left home for Melbourne run at 8am Saturday, overcast but dry. No sun glare, was great for traveling.
Not much traffic, reached my mates place at Reservoir 1pm. Had a good rest up, but was forced to eat a meal by mates wife.
Up in the morning at 6am, hot shower and ready to hit the road at 8am, as it's a 2.5 hour run to Cape Paterson from there. light traffic on the way down, was annoyed by the GPS which kept trying to direct me to toll roads. Traffic from the south to the city was pretty heavy. (end of school holidays?) Bit of a delay near destination because of Lobster Festival crowd at Kilcunda.
Arrived at the Tavern at 11am, and waited for others to arrive. Was great to catch up with everyone.

Staff at the Tavern were great, friendly and helpful.

We started packing up at around 2pm, the local rain we had during lunch had eased, but we all donned wet gear for the trip home.
Had some fun with low speed traffic filtering with Michael and Doug to get through the crazy stalled traffic on the way back to Melbourne, took me more than 3 hours to reach the Westgate Bridge.

Had a clean dry run all the way to Colac until the rain really started coming down. I was already soaked with sweat anyway, under the wet weather gear. Traffic was not heavy, but visibility was very low because of rain and humidity. Rain finally stopped shortly after passing Camperdown. No sunglare in the eyes because of overcast. Clean run home, finally in the door at very last light at 9pm. 10 minutes later, there was no light at all.

Total distance covered for the weekend, 1129 kms
Now less than 1500 km to go for my speedo to reach 200,000 km, and reset to zero..
Sorry folks, no photos this trip, left my camera home. Rusty has posted pics in the RTE thread.

Thankfully only very light occasional drizzle was encountered on our short ride down, well, as far as Sue & I were concerned anyhow.

Nice to see Kev making the long journey from Portland and "Bodø" making an even longer journey from South Oz to attend...Good stuff guys!

Unfortunately a shower of rain during lunch had made the roads a bit wet on the trip home but the drizzle had mostly cleared so Sue & I decided
to take the long way back home via the coast road to Inverloch before heading to Leongatha and then back to Korumburra.

Yet again thanks go to Michael for arranging this RTE and more thanks go to all that made the effort to attend!  :runyay

Hey Kev, you should be able to go into "settings" and set it to avoid toll roads...  :thumbs

By the way, glad you got home safely!  ++

Kev Murphy:
Old GPS, does not have. Used a newer GPS for home trip.

Williamson:
Good to hear you had a good run home.

What make /model/age GPS have you got?  I've an old Navman you can have, if it's a later or better model GPS than you already have.

I thought this only happened with the 1300??
