Hi all, had a very interesting ending to last year. This year is not without issues either, so Forrest RTE will be out for moi, have a date with the Royal Melb on the 10th Feb, which is a real bugger as my missus was was gonna come for a ride as well :cuss. Toowoomba`s looking a bit shaky too at the moment, but as they say, one step at a time. Other than that All Good. Stay Upright ........... :wht11 .......................Nigel

Get better Nigel, lots more events coming up. Looks like I will be in, as I was going back to Colac sometime soon anyway. I checked out Forest a few weeks ago. The Wonky Donkey looks ok, the brewery is actually a brew pub cafe open from breakfast with plenty of room. and there is another cafe that does bicycle hire. Can't go wrong I reckon as all seemed popular, the brew place looked a bit trendier.
For those thinking about going from Beech Forest to Forest, the road is sealed all the way these days, with a winding single and a bit bitumen road with no centre line much of the way - very scenic through the forest but look out for traffic. The Beechy pub is also popular, not much good if you have to ride though.

Was looking forward to attending this one, I got my own bike now! got a Suzuki gs500f, I know its not an ST ... but I might get there one day haha. But Doggy and I would of liked to come but I have to work. Not sure if Doggy will attend or not? :13Candy :'(

I will likely be in Colac at least the day before, so if anyone wants to meet up in Colac we can take some of the interesting roads to Forest. There is not a bad road into there, even Lardeners Track (gravel, narrow all the way to Gellibrand) is ok if you like that sort of thing.

Just 12 days away, now. I intend to travel straight through Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Camperdown, to Colac, and take a right turn at the lights heading for Forrest.
Should be in Colac by about 10 am, and a further half hour to the venue.
See you there!
Time to scrub up the bike again, its still spattered with bugs from last weekend when I did a run to Mt Gambier for some shopping, and came home at dusk... Dem MOFFS dun likes my lights... and saw 17 skippys on the way home....

I will be starting in Colac so we could meet up around 10am at the BP servo on the left just as you get to the traffic lights for the right turn on the Colac-Forest road. For once I will probably be doing the shortest distance, as I was going to be in Colac anyway so the Canberra-Colac and back legs don't qualify for distance to RTE ;-*

Just had a heavy shower pass through the southwest at 4 am, its heading eastwards and I may catch up with it altho it will have a 3 hour head start on me.... looks like I may possibly need the wet gear heading for Colac and beyond.

Hey Gordo... remember you were talking about that sweet spot in the 1300 of 3,800 PRM for fuel economy.
I check that out on the way home and it turns out to be 110km on the speedo, so 100km GPS
