It is with Great sadness and a lump in my throat that we have to say goodbye to one of our wonderful members Brad (BlueHonda).
Member Profile: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?action=profile;u=176 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?action=profile;u=176)
As informed by Dick and Chris, Brad had a sudden illness that took him from us far to soon.
He was a fantastic member, and someone who flew the Riding Safely Flag, and was always there if someone wanted advice on how to be a better rider., he will be missed.
Keep safe Brad and God Bless.

So sad. Condolences to family and friends.
I am shocked and saddened by the loss of our valued member. My sympathy to his lady. Don't know what else to say, other than I am sorry.
Condolences to Karen and family from Pitstop and myself. Too damn quick but quick means no suffering so may Brad be resting in peace now. God Bless Him.
My condolences to the family...
I think a big turn out is needed to send him off in a proper manner....
Chris heard the terrible news from Karen earlier this morning, Karen will advise soon of the arrangements and we will post accordingly.
Karen advised that Brad spoke of OzSTOC & the Blue Knights motorcycle club often and along with his family and sailing these where his passion.
Pockey :'(
Quite a shock and definitely the wrong result we were all hoping for.
Prayers and well wishes to Brad's family and to us, his friends.

You know i was only thinking about Brad this afternoon, I first met him with Teela when we where on our way down to National Rally 2012, he turned up with his son on board, and we met at a little coffee place not far away from home, we must have sat there for an hour talking bikes, how they handle, and tricks i could use to make riding easier, I found myself putting them into practice on that trip, and I still use them now.
He was so free and easy to talk to, he has rung me more than once with an idea of something we could do to benefit the club, excited to see if we could do something.
Does anyone else have a good Brad Story?
-
Ashes to Ashes,
Dust to Dust,
Brad Had a smile,
That you could trust.
So, I'm begging you Lord,
With tears in my eyes,
Let him ride his Blue Honda st1100,
Through Heaven's Skies.
In memory of Brad :bl11

RIP Brad. Condolences to his family and those that were close to him.
Could we do something as a collective for Karen? Maybe chip in to have someone maintain her yard for a while or something equally as practical.
Just a thought.

I didn't know Brad but I knew he was a keen and valued contributor to OZSTOC. My condolences to Brad's family.

Great words and sentiments thanks folks. ST2UP has been a bit of a middle man in conveying our thoughts and best wishes to Brad's family.
Although many of us cannot make the funeral service, the Mods and I have drafted a letter to the congregation that will be read out as part of Brad's Eulogy on behalf of his 'other' family here at OzSTOC.
Here is the letter that is being sent:

Thankyou so much to those who have put compiled this letter to Brad/s family on our behalf. It's a wonderful initiative.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts for Brad and his family. He will be missed by us all. Brads funeral was a big turnout with 200 plus in attendance. He was escorted by the Police motor cycles, his local fire truck and the Blue Knights, even the ambos turned up which would have made brad laugh as it wasnt in the plan.Brad was always helpful and would give his time and advice anytime and his advice was always spot on.I met brad and karen nine years ago when we bought there house, they were so helpful in a time when we knew knowone or the area we had moved to. Brad got me onto a1100 two years ago after i got him dirt bike riding and know his kids have got the bug. Karen is a real trooper and brad can rest easy knowing his kids are in good hands and a good place but its still not fair. These last few weeks have been a real s--t and really make you take a look at things. We will miss you mate but not forget.I will miss our rides and after action reviews RIDE ON

Does anyone have a location/address for Brad's final resting place?
I plan to stop and pay my respects on my way through, but don't know any locations.
Cheers, Diesel

Hi Diesel,
Brad (Kaul) was cremated at Lake Innes Memorial Gardens in Port Macquarie. Not sure if a memorial plaque has been set up as yet. For info, Ros and I met Brad and Karen just once at Dorrigo but coincidentally it turned out that he lived next door to my sister who knew him and his family very well and and who attended his funeral (which was a big one). I understand some photos of the cortege were taken to be posted on the forum at some time and I assume these will come through Chris in due course. Brad lived at Stewarts River (near Moreland) which is about 20km off the Pacific Highway 50 km North of Taree (Turn off at Johns River if you are heading South) . If you wanted to drop in and pay your respects to Karen I am sure Chris could check this out for you.
Cheers
Dick B

I overcooked the distance to Stewarts River off the Pacific Highway from Johns River. It is actually 8.2km https://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&tab=wl (https://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&tab=wl)
Jerusalem Road is gravel although I have been along it a few times on the ST without trouble (as long as it is dry). If you want detailed directions to Brad's house let me know.
Cheers

We called in on Karen for a few hours today on our way to National Rally, they are moving on with life with Karens strong will and resiliance support the family along.
Karen found her self home alone last weekend and was collected by some of Brads other motorcycle club the Blue Knights for a lunch run in the Harrington area, motorcycles road and dirt have been a big part of their lives along with the Brad and the kids other passion sailing.
We had lunch with Karen and watched a video/photo tribute to Brad, with footage of the Police/Blue Knights/RFS cortage, tears flowed quiet freely. The Hats that made Brad who he was, his former Police, RFS, Aukubra and his OzSToc cap lay upon the coffin.
We have invitied Karen to still attend the Christmas in July at Uralla as they had such a great time at the Ebor RTE that they registered early for the Uralla Christmas in July RTE.
