Title: New Nth Qlder
Post by: 99gold on June 16, 2015, 01:40:58 AM
Picking up a 99 Aniversary Gold in a few weeks. Very low km @ 35000. Hardly ridden.
Minor repair to be carried out on LH Mirror Cowl & source a LH mirror assembly.
Have been wanting one of these for years. Now to make some room in garage to fit just one more bike in.

Welcome to the OzSTOC forum Dave, where any questions about how, what, where, when or why are covered fairly well.

Click on the link to read about the last local RTE (Ride To Eat).

Gold STs rule in FNQ it seems.
Probably impossible to source a factory mirror cover, so be prepared to have a colour match jobbie.  The colour code is on the frame under the seat and any body shop should be able to reproduce it.  Even mirror covers are getting scarce because they are among the first things to suffer in a drop.
Welcome to the asylum.

Dave,
Bikebear may have some insight into your golden mirror cover, colour matching jobbie, when you get around to it.

Cheers, John.

Gday Dave ..... from a fellow Dave AND fellow Townsvillian!

There are a few of us around the town.

Did I see the bike parked out side the GOC council depot a week or so back? Is that you or are you buying it from that person.

I did notice that he had it covered with a cover so it must be well looked after I think.

Look forward to touching base.

Hi Dave and welcome ... We just need more Dave's in the club....

Hanno in townsville had a gold would that be his old bike by any chance?

Tackleberry and Mystic 2 are good contacts for Townsville as well, Tackleberry is an original townsville member although is without a bike atm, but his knowledge is pretty good when it comes to 1100's if you send him a message I'm sure he'll reply.

Re: Goldie ST actually comes the the Gold Coast. It currently belongs to my acountant who bought it 12mths ago & has not ridden it. I have taken it out a couple of times when down on the coast, but it has not been out of his garage since my last visit in March.  As for the mirror. I stumbled across an ad on Gumtree a couple of days ago. A guy in Deception Bay has a dead ST. Looks like I have scored the mirrorr assembly, but I believe there are many other bits available.  I am hopefully heading down to the GC in July to pick up & ride the Goldie home to Tville. Then rematch paintwork on Mirror cowling & take her out for the odd outing. As she has only done 35000km, I am not keen on getting too many km on her.  I have a few other toys to do that. This is more of a collectors item for me to bring up to showroom condition. Should not take much to do. I shall post pictures once I collect her.

G'day mate,

Welcome to the madhouse. With regards to getting the colour matched, it can be a tough job. The metallic is very fine and can be a bugger to achieve, also make sure the person doing the job gets the colour matched exactly, the guy that did mine was pretty good but it still ended up slightly green when compared to the original paint.
There used to be 4 goldies in Cairns but at the moment I only know of two, mine and a mates. His has well over 250000kms on it, mine has only 86000kms on it so barely run in.

Cheers,
Craig.

Welcome from another FNQ member! I'm in Atherton on the Tablelands, but its not that far away :-)
This place is a very friendly bunch, and if you ever get the chance to attend a national rally jump at it... they are great  :beer

35,000km on the bike.. its still brand new.. i've done that in the last two years... And if your thinking of heading over to perth for the rally, let me know.. I'm riding over and it would be nice to have somebody else to travel with :-)

Hi Dave,

Welcome from Peterborough SA.

The easiest is the mirror as it's the same on all years  so 88120-MAJ-R01 is what you need Price $159.30

Colour Code is Y158M, Part number for new is 88121-MT3-003ZT Price $127.09

Prices from http://www.bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/home (http://www.bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/home) with postage on top and your local dealer price would be close to that.

But http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/)

Mirror Price £49.77 or $105.97
Housing £54.84 or $116.77

With postage on top

I checked with our local dealer re tank decals and he said if there's a price listed they're still available and I guess that applies to all parts.

That'll give you an idea
