You will have to do a run up here. It will love the highway run, I would think.

And now I am jealous.
THERE ARE OLD RIDERS, AND THERE ARE BOLD RIDERS, BUT THERE ARE DAMN FEW OLD AND BOLD RIDERS.

I think when I go that way it'll probably be the Versys so I can follow through to Kringin and Karte, both of which are dirt.  That same logic may also apply to next year's Border Run.

Farkling just started, These will help tie you bag on. A few different types available,

https://wingstuff.com/products/33655-tie-down-bracket-cable-guide
https://imghostr.net/image/fGpzM

Had a second look at these, and just as one of the reviews said, I'm unsure where to attach them on my bike.  When I pull the covers off is on saturday before going to Langhorne Creek I'll have a better look and also throw my duffle bag on for a better idea.

I braved the elements to take a morning ride out to Raukkan, home of the church that features on the polymer $50 notes.  Then it was off to a Ride To Eat at Langhorne Creek before riding home.

Looks like you managed to correct the date on the nav system. Have you got it to say hello to you when you turn it on?

No, I haven't fixed the date, but learning how to put gpx points on a map made me wonder if there's an android app that store/save gps points as a similar gpx file and I found one on google play in which a review told me everything I wanted to know.  I installed that and did did tests on it at work this week before taking on today's ride.  Here's what the Honda one looks like:

Every time I turn off/on the bike it creates a new file and I have save them individually, then post them to a map one by one which is time consuming (and the date's wrong), but it does show points I stopped.  Mind you, the android app allows me to add anecdotes which I did at Langhorne Creek saying lunch.

It says Hello Bodo when I turn it on.  I changed that on my first ride.  The only language installed is British English so there's no option for an Ø.

I actually videoed that sign on and sign off today, but as yet have not looked at any footage.  I'm still in the process of copying files to my computer.

Do you have the manual? I haven't looked hard but as far as I know you can use Garmin Basecamp and/or Garmin Express on your laptop to load trips onto a card and then put the card in the bike. The bike has two cards, one has the maps and the other you use to load trips from.

I think that's to load trips you plan to do.  I found a couple from the previous owner on the card.  Well, that's what I am guessing they are given the track is black, not blue and straight lines.

The tablet app is less time consuming and shows the correct date so I think I'll use that.

I got the registration renewal notice in the post last week and paid it for twelve months this morning.  It's actually cheaper than the Versys (by about $6).

How on earth does that work!!?? More cylinders, more cc, more weight. It doesn't make sense. Mind you, I'm happy for you that it's not more expensive.

On closer inspection the actual registration sees the wing cheaper by fifty cents, and the CTP cheaper by $6 ish.  Either way, it's surprise.

Bargain!  Wot thuh

Here in Vic, if you live in the big smoke (high risk area), I think it's roughly $726.00 for any motorcycle over 500cc.
If you live out in the sticks, it drops to around $580.00...
Both of those include Victoria's rip off "Safety Tax" which is currently $78.00.  :cuss

Today I went for a ride to South Australia's most southern point - Cape Northumberland at Port Macdonnell.  How great is cruise control?  I'll have to look into putting one on the Versys.  967 kilometres in the saddle is the wing's biggest ride since I bought it.

The blue bit I traversed both ways, the red in a counter clockwise loop.

Very sharp colour scheme.  Big jump in size from the Versys!

Actually being lower to the ground it doesn't feel that much heavier (if at all) and it glides through the curves.  Might be a different story if I have to pick it up off the ground.  Hopefully I never have to.

Well, I hope the day would never came but this morning the front wheel slid out as I tried to u-turn and then over corrected.  A combination of roll bars and the lump in the ground and little speed meant it didn't go completely over and there's not a mark on the bike.  Did I have the strength to pick it up?  No, not by myself, but a passer by did help me right it.  Lesson learned - if I have to turn around the photo's not worth it.  Either that or come back another day.

On the way to the Mannum Ride To Eat, Monarto, South Australia
