Here's the text of the advert, and I'll grab the photos....

I have decided to retire from long distance riding, and offer my Honda CTX1300 for sale.

This bike is set up for long distance riding. It is fitted with Cruise Control which was fitted by the supplier/manufacturer in Melbourne. It is the latest updated version. (It cost about $1700 to fit)
It has long range fuel tank plumbed in with a range of 650-700 km between stops (This cost me just over $1,000)
There is room to strap down your swag on top of the fuel tank in front of the top box.
LED Auxiliary lights for night riding
There are a few RAM mounts for your mobile phone and GPS. It also has a few USB charging ports on the handle bar and in the top box to charge your mobile devices on the go.
I replaced the hard luggage with soft waterproof bags, but you will get the hard luggage as well. I find these soft bags work better for luggage than the hard bags which are really only good looking but not very practical. It's your choice which to use though.
I also have a madstad engineering windscreen fitted which is very practical. You will get the original screen which is about 2 inches high and also a full screen from Honda.

This is a very comfortable bike to ride. It compares to a smaller version of the mighty GoldWing. The bike is very experienced and well looked after with regular services, even on multiple day long distance rides. It has 78,000 highway kilometers on the clock.

The price is $8,500 and you are ready to roll. The registration in NSW is till mid January 2021.

It looks like quite a reasonable set-up for long distance riding, although I don't see a range of 650-700km between stops very practical, I would need at least two stops to strectch legs, pit stop, etc..might as well fill up then.

And, it is fugly.

I reckon Biggles could make use of that range, and at least it is red so it will be fast.  Probably a very capable tourer; it's just a shame it looks so daft.

IBA Riders can use auxillary fuel tanks to extend their range, but there is a limit to how much they are permitted to carry.

I think it looks rather cool. Pipes set it off nicely, having cruise is great and the ability to be able to fill up when it suits, rather than looking for juice at 350 makes it a true tourer. Nice set up :thumb
