The Garmin Zumo GPS has an inbuilt media player which I loaded up with my favourite tracks & Bluetoothed to the helmet.

Couldn't work out why my playlists kept repeating the same selected songs.

Pulled up the files on my laptop to find the majority of songs I'd added in recent times were MP4 tracks & only the MP3 tracks were playing.

Then came the tedious effort of converting all the MP4s to MP3.

But I now have a lot of new tracks to listen to  o:)

Thanks.   I'm content with my decision, having lived the motorcycling dream for quite a while.  Two laps of Oz, and so many other long trips for a total of over 300,000km touring Australia by motorcycle has given me lots of adventures and memories.   Life is a series of seasons, and we gently move from one to another.

I do hope I can find a good home for "GhoST"   (Quiet, sneaks up, and because of her looks, scares the shit out of some motorists when she's spotted in their rear vision mirror)

Sorry to hear this Pete, it must have been a very hard decision to make, hoping your injury heals and you are able to ride again.
Cheers
Jd.

Good luck with the sale.

... I plan on getting something quite a bit lighter for short trips.   I will attend RTE's both in SA and elsewhere, but will be in the ute or with the caravan.

It'll be good to catch-up, whether that be on two or four wheels, the calibre of the company is not dependent on mode of travel.

...  I guess it's a decision we'll all have to make one day.

Yep, that day is getting closer for all of us.  After my "off" March 2023, thoughts of giving up riding passed in and out of my mind a number of times.  Despite a long, slow recovery and some on-going lower back discomfort when riding (even after a remedial procedure), for now "out" has won.

...  The Doctor made the decision for me with the ST1300.

I had a post-op visit to the surgeon last week.  We discussed progress, what I can do.  Pushy (eBike) and motorcycle riding were encouraged, he said something along the lines of, get back to normal activities, motorcycle riding included, things you like are important for your mental and emotional state, a good state of mind is important for your physical recovery.  I like this guy.

He did add, don't fall off though, this is how your problem started.

I have about 35 albums on a memory stick and they almost last the four days to Victor Harbor which I do a few times a year.
I enjoy the music from the speakers as against ear pieces.

I copied quite a few of my albums to one yesterday and did a quick test on the AUX and that works too.  I'll test it out next time I'm out on an open highway.  Today, however, I'm not travelling far so the Versys will get the nod.  It too is due for a service.
