Scottsdale in NE Tassie gets a big thumbs up from me...

Is that a plaque on the plinth next to it?  I'm afflicted with needing to read plaques.  Does it say anything about the wood carving?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Unusual to get the bike in front of a ship and since it was in port we rode over the causeway and took this. As luck would have it there are two people standing on the deck above the H in heavy which should give an idea of the size of this thing and what it is unloading. Taken at Port Pirie

The Big Golf Ball at Horsham Vic.   it's not that big, but I'm guessing that it qualifies.

The Big Hills Hoist at Lonsdale SA.   It's massive and I can only just reach the handle.   This is on the site of the factory where Hills Industries made the famous Hills Hoist that we all swung around on as kids, and is another local Big Thing that I've been alerted to.  I understand that it is soon to be demolished as Hills vacated the site long ago.

Cruise ship docked in harbour here this afternoon. Click on pix for larger image

Tugs pushing the ship to the dock

Tour buses waiting,

... and a fleet of mini shuttle buses moving along the breakwater to the ship

Majestic beast?

The Big Swan at Dunedoo NSW.  It's not the best looking big thing that I've tagged, but I'd stopped for a break anyway.

How many "Big Things"does that make now Mr StinkyPete?  And no, your secretary is not going to list them for you to check!

Anyway, good to see you weren't bored on the trip home from Harrington!

I make it 62 Big Things so far, and am always on the lookout for more. While not yet an obsession, it is getting a little weird.    There are three at Coober Pedy that I haven't photographed,  and might need to do an overnight trip to bag them.

Technically, the Opal Beetle across the road from the Boomerang is not a 'big' thing, but well worth a look and a picture... and only 100 metres away
from the Winch
