Nice. A tribute to man's compulsion to dig big holes in the ground.

OK, so what's it a big one of?  It's a normal train size.
Maybe it's a big example of a three-ply cut-out train.   :grin

I can't believe I beat ST2UP to this one.     The Big Glasshouse at Guyra where all of the tomatoes for Coles and Woolies are grown.  If I got the whole setup in the photo, the bike would have been an invisible speck.

Big 'Walking' Wheels
Couldn't get the bike in the photo, the locals cracked a darky about crossing the grass. The small wheels on Lizzie are almost 6 feet tall... and the trailer is 30 ft long

400 feet to do a U-turn?... thank gawd the ST is more nimble than that!... and a bit faster, with an extra 3 cylinders.

The SMALL solar system.    At scale distances along the roads from the Siding Springs Observatory, there are scale models of the planets, and the tens of kilometers between the planets give some concept of just how BIG the solar system really is.     Here I am at Saturn.

Yep you win Pete  :-++.....I cannot believe we had not even considered the MASSIVE Glass house........less than 2k's from our front door  :whistle

and the second tomatoe glass house is under construction just 5 K's North of Guyra......you will be able to see this one from the New England Hwy  :like

When completed we are talking just over a 100 acres under glass.... :eek

Just what you need when there is a major hailstorm.... broken glass to slash the tomatoes to shreds, instead of suffering minor discolouration damage from the icy cold.  :crackup

The Big olive is just off the Pinaroo road on the left heading out, it's in an industrial estate thats slowly taking off.
In the main street theres a nice park with an old Rx steam locomotive, and good bakery.

Then you'll be disappointed if you see the big orange at Berri. It's been closed for years and I think not far from falling apart. Someone put one of the Wallaroo (ex Adelaide Rail) cars and left it to rust away.
--------

I think this works.

We took this Sunday afternoon on our way back from Adelaide. We just managed to get some of the colour but had to take two shots so we get the bike in. I can only guess how faraway the rain bow was but 6 km later we weren't even close.....but the storm front dumped on Renmark Sunday night.

By the very nature of the light refraction that creates the rainbow, you will never get close to it.
That's why no one has ever claimed the pot of gold.

And here's me thinking the "Big Thing" is the 110 kph.  Big, but there's bigger in NT.    :grin

It was the storm that we didn't get close to, luckily as we had our fun with one of them on Saturday.....should have got a pic of that when we stopped to put the wet weather gear on.
