Title: Fuel Consumption indicator
Post by: Smokeguy on June 04, 2012, 09:21:05 PM
Not sure if mine is working or not. It constantly says 16.2 - I try going down a gear or two and slow down - 16.2 - I (gasp) give the bike some stick on a good road - 16.2 . ?? is it stuck, should it show something else. Each time i glance at it  - 16.2 damn even the manual shows a picture of it and it says - you guessed it - 16.2 I have never seen it deviate ?
Am I being paranoid or can it be reset or something .   I know it is surposed to show the average fuel usage but I cannot believe I'm achieving that all the time ?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Current fuel consumption takes a sample every 15 seconds, and I see mine change about that often (Manual, page 23).
Average fuel consumption will vary only slightly.  You can reset it (see p 23).   :thumb

Try disconnecting the battery and doing a reboot

Hey there, i to have been wondering about my "average fuel consumption" -> and how to reset?
Average fuel consumption will vary only slightly.  You can reset it (see p 23).   :thumb
The Owners Manual states:

To Reset Average Fuel Consumption:
Press and hold the FCD/H button with the display in the average fuel
consumption.

Cheers and happy riding, Sim

It's done in the same way you reset the trip meter just push & hold the FCD/H button & it will reset

You can change between the 'Average', which won't vary if not reset for along time, or you can select 'real time' consumption which, as Biggles said, calculates every few seconds. You can even change between km/ltr or ltr/100km. I've left mine on ltrs/100km's for a few years without resetting it and it sits at 5.6.

It's not an option.  See Manual page 21.

You can on mine, an  '04. The FCD/H button allows me to change displays between L/100k's, K's/Ltr or current consumption, which updates every 15 sec. See page 27.

:thumb  I recently changed mine to the Km's / Ltr setting. I let the ltrs / 100 k's run for a few years without resetting it. Settled in at 5.6, which is pretty average I imagine.
