Departed orbost this morning with Abe & parted ways in Canberra .
I stopped into fyshwick to purchase some "special straws" to send to Turtle then stopped at the Apple shop to get a new power cord.
Now sitting in cowra sipping a Bundy & planning tomorrow's ride ...

So many deviants in 1 cabin , I was bound to get confused.
Turtle get the fishnet stockings, diesel gets the straws  >:()

The question is..what is the vsteam screen like in this sort of whether (a Shiney question)?

The screen has been a vast improvement from the standard :thumb
But I just have to do some more testing with Carrol on the back of the bike, she really liked Stinky Pete's screen, so just have to make sure she likes it as much (or more) then Pete's :think1 :think1

I finally got back to Perth last night. After following the coast to Middleton and then the more direct route home. My ODO shows a total distance of 7,551km travelled.

I'll post a ride report when I can sit down again in front of the computer. That might be a while.  :-[

Well I've arrived at Yamba. A rest day tomorrow (and a wedding thing to do).

Organised new tyres at Tyres for Bikes cooroy on Tuesday. I had fairly new tyres on when I left home.

7,000 k's ??? I'm at over 8,000 and I'm not even home yet, not till next Friday with around 2,000 still to go.

I departed Cowra this morning heading for Tamworth taking the road less travelled , going through canowindra cudal molong wellington & gulgong. I got bored , so decided to turn the 13 into a chooky & do 15 km over the mountains on gravel roads between merriwa & willow tree.Had an absolute ball.

I passed a council excavator coming up the hill , waving to the bewildered driver as i passed.
Got the same odd look from the roller compactor driver at the bottom of the hill  :hatwave

what a brilliant twisty road from Bathurst to Muswellbrook via Bylong...
Tipsy

I will always recommend this route from Bathurst north through the Wollemi National Park along the Bylong Valley Way! Sensational!       :thumbsup

http://goo.gl/maps/rvNqf

Must do it in daylight hours though.      :-(((

You should get a traffic free run for many, many clicks this way.

Cheers, Diesel

Told YA!       :popcorn              :rofl

Great pics CK.       :thumb

@Sabie - Are you monitoring your tyre pressures?  Besides road surface, LOW PRESSURES are tyre KILLERS!     :||||

I did 6,500 kms on a brand new PR2 and, although there is some flattening of the centre part, it can barely been seen.

I don't know what tyres you are running, but Big Ted borrowed MY gauge to test his tyres at Middelton, and was surprised at the result!      :eek

Hope this helps.

Hi Deisel

Yep check every morning or 2nd morning, running 42psi front and back.

I'm happy with the mileage, rear tyre will be about 14,000 k's by the time I get to Noosa and the front around 10,000 k's. I had the tyres checked by a tyre guy in Geelong and he said the wear was right on schedule of what could be expected (ST2UP got new tyres off him and he checked mine)

By the time I get home to Townsville another 2500 k's to go they would be over due for replacement. Mrs Sabie is meeting me in Noosa to escort me home and while we're spending a few days in a unit on the beach it's a good opportunity to replace my tyres in a place that has more tyre options and better prices I'll put new boots on my blue baby.

Thanks for the heads up, alls ok  :thumb

Made it home in 1 piece around 1.30pm , normal time  :clap
Had fuel problems from Warwick all the way home.
Was running very hot , spluttering & farting  so I suspect fuel vaporisation .
Waved to a red 13 on the grogan motorway ( who was it ? )
All up clocked 5807 km - a great trip.
I would like to thank a cast thousands for making the trip utterly fantastic  :runyay
It was a great introduction to long distance touring !
