Sabie .... very glad to hear the casualty was jocks only!

I must have been an hour in front of you as I just missed the rain on commissioners flat road and decided to go the 'long way' over the top and just over the hill got SMASHED by the rain..... absolutely SMASHAROOD!!!!!!!!

Thankfully I had someone in front of me with bright tail lights so I just followed that with plenty of breaking room.

I did get a bit of Jock wear just out side of Gin Gin when my front wheel started aquaplaning! ..... that is one scary feeling!  I think the trailer dragging me may have helped keep me upright ...... or it was just superior riding skills and not panicking like a little 5 year old and grabbing the breaks.

it was the Commissiones flat turn off  we went up and over too to be able to have a white line to follow. Ian had 3 or more cars in front of him so with the heavy rain, the spray and my glasses fogging up I lost vision except for Ians taillights. Ii missed the black suv by literally 1 or 2 inches at 80kph.

have you given any thought that the trailer may have contributed to the front aquaplaning due to the lift znd drag force on the front wheel??

We were riding around Brisbane in that rain heading from my friend's place to my sister's.

Passed you on the way into work on Monday.... you were heading south on the M1
Probably ... i was more worried about getting out of Brisbane ... it is a lot bigger than i thought. Sydney at 2pm was very confusing and nerve wracking. Canberra at 5pm and again at 8:30 this morning was just cruisey .... and Melbourne at 5:30pm was rather daunting today.

have you given any thought that the trailer may have contributed to the front aquaplaning due to the lift znd drag force on the front wheel??

I hadn't actually thought that might be an issue .........    but what I do know was that I am due for front tyre replacement so there definitely would not have been much (any) water dispersion and I did hit the sheet water at a reasonable clip.

a good mixture of both actually.

By the way .... Ned Kelly sends his hellos.

"Canberra at 5pm and again at 8:30 this morning was just cruisey .... "

Probably because Canberra is a planned city and the Canberra Council does a reasonable job with road maintenance. Although they are likely to stuff up the traffic flow by installing a light rail system.

Hi All,
Went directly to the Esk Bakery on Sunday am from where we were staying out at Meringandan, a good ride with a few Ozstoc's pulling in on their way towards home or onward journeys. Our apologies, we missed saying farewell to everyone, also a big thank you to the organisers for a job well done, it was a great weekend.
Got home safe on Wednesday evening, 3,790 kms, our ST1300 never missed a beat as usual, the weather was a real mixed bag but nothing us Melbournians haven't seen before!!
Enjoyed the ride Murwillumbah to Kyogle, also Mullaney via Dunedoo into Dubbo, makes a change from the Newell.
Cheers

Jack and una home on Saturday 28 th march.
Left Toowoomba and headed up to woombye, for a few days, left there on Wednesday to head home, got to Bonny hills in nsw on Thursday, then on Friday took a brain storm and decided we were going home, so we left at 10.30 am on Friday and got home at 04.30 on sat morning, was a short 1280 kms lol.
Had a great time at rally, thanks to all who participated,
And a special thanks to all the guys who helped to organise it, both the head guys and the ones helping behind the scenes. Hope you all had fun.

So you're over-qualified as a FarRider.    :thumbsup
Now you just need to do a 1000 kay round trip (or one way) to a FarRide RTE to get your FarRider number.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Hi Pezzz, don't think so, all sealed except for 2 to 3 klm, if it's dry you should have no trouble.

I arrived home late on Friday night travelling along the coast road.

Rode along the Great Alpine Road, God it lives up to its name, also dame cold at 5pm on top of Mt Hotham.

I had to do an emergency rear tyre change yesterday in Ouyen, the local tyre dealer had never done a motorcycle tyre before & didn’t want to try, I asked the local auto electrician and he allowed me to use his workshop to do the tyre change. I got a new tyre couriered up from Mildura, 5 hours later back on the road.

Had a ball and now home safely after 5800 Klm's travelled.
