Narva 7 Pin Flat Trailer Socket Kit (82045BL)

(1/1)

alans1100:
I'm getting ready to install a tow bar on to the 1300 a little sooner than expected due to the 1100 now off the road due to gear selection issues.

The tow bar was sourced a few weeks ago from one our Adelaide members and we're going down to the city tomorrow (Friday 23rd) to pick it up.

Yesterday I had a look for the wiring and plug for the bike and found what I needed but none of the major branded automotive stores sold it. They had the wiring and plug available separately but not as a kit. https://www.narva.com.au/products/82045BL

Ended up getting it at eBay for $20.80 delivered.

Brock:
Please dont use the scotch locks, they damage the wiring and cause problems.

alans1100:
Before I even get to joining anything to anything I have to locate the best wiring point. The 1100 was easy being easily accessible directly behind the trail light cluster.

I had a friend do the 1100 wiring and it was soldered, heat shrink tubing and followed up with electrical tape; it looks more secure than fort knox.

Take a look at this:-

I had to redo the wiring on my sidecar because they had used scotch locks and had damaged the wiring.
I could get a plug and play kit for the GL1500 not sure about the ST1300.
It only uses the original bike wiring for signals only and takes the power direct from the battery.

alans1100:
Thanks Glen.

They have a universal kit which fits most bikes.

I converted the trailer lighting to LED ages ago which I think offsets most of the extra load on the bike light circuits; at least no issues on the 1100A.
