Thanks Sabie I think  :think1

I guess as the club membership grows it gets harder to please everyone all the time. But we will continue to just do our best.

From our point of view we are really happy with the way this has been developed into this final outcome. The club bike idea needed to be thourghly looked into as this was what was discussed and approved by saaz so we wanted to keep this in our plan as best as possible and explored so many ways to bring this to life, Chris spoke with so many people, organizations and other clubs to make this happen and at some stupid hours  :Stirpot

We had some fabulous plans to have the bike stored and ready to be used in a number of fantastic riding destinations including Tassie, this may all get revisited in the future with a different bike after Chris gathered all this extra information  :think1 just with a different and less memorable bike.

But it just wasn't to be mainly because off the bikes long term condition and future needs.

The museum was a brilliant location and I encourage you to call in and see the displays, even I as a non rider was so impressed by the variety and history on display. We only had an hour to wander around after Saaz's bike was delivered and cannot wait to get back again. Don't forget there is an RTE proposed for early in 2017 to the museum at Nabiac and you may be riding past on your way to National Rally at Wooli.

Sorry.... I know this thread is 4 years old, and I never met Saaz,  but I’m wondering if his bike is still at the museum.  I just looked up their web site and I don’t see it listed.

Good question Steve, this could perhaps develop into an overnighter RTE. Perhaps in January 2021?

I think while donating John’s ST1100 to the Museum Was a nice idea, it doesn’t really fit in with what the Museum is really about and I suspect it really only comes out of storage when the are made aware the OzSTOC Crowd are visiting.

We could make this an annual RTE, but I’m not sure that in the middle of the January school holidays is the best time?

It was on display when we visited in October 2017. However upon enquiring at the front desk, nobody was aware of Ostoc or John’s (Saaz) ST. But we did find it after rushing through the museum as it was just on closing time.

An annual RTE to Nabiac would be great 👍. Now if only these damn border restrictions  are lifted 🙁

... I suspect it really only comes out of storage when the are made aware the OzSTOC Crowd are visiting.

This would be consistent with my (limited) understanding of classic and vintage car and motorcycle exhibitors, ie. they change / rotate their display on a regular basis.

... We could make this an annual RTE, but I’m not sure that in the middle of the January school holidays is the best time?

Annual events are always helpful with long-term planning, but yeah, mid-Jan would have it's disadvantages.

It was on display when we visited in October 2017 ... but we did find it after rushing through the museum as it was just on closing time.

I suppose that was on the way to or from Wooli, about the same time I visited. Also late in the afternoon, just before closing and a very rushed walk through the display. Unfortunately, I missed it.

It was there after Wooli as we called in and looked at the displays. The guy there did not know the story of the bike.

Well spotted Brock. It was hanging off when I got there. I did place it back on but there were some wires hanging out too so I didn't want to force it but did manage to attach two of the lugs to hold it.
