On the contrary, originally I was going to do the FarRide as a day ride (first time!), but now I will finish the FarRide at Lake Cargellico then do an unrushed 400kms to Tungemah. Based on last year, my muscles should be well relaxed by the end of the evening  :beer

I think you should get a emoticons thingy with 2 red wind glasses "cheering" as well as the beer one. (those above thingies, when typing a response)

 Mornin' All...

Thinking to have to pass on this for this year :think1...as probably these dates will clash with my return trip with my octogenarian Mate from the Ulysses AGM in Alice Springs.

Pity, as Pete Chisnell and his Wife really do a grand job making all welcome.

Cheers the can :-)

Evenin' All...

Have booked in the the Saturday night with my octogenarian Mate on our return trip from the Centre...all good, so hopefully see some familiar faces again from last year. ;-*

Now Streak or Marcus... :spank...while having a chat with Helen it became apparent that though she was well aware about all the bookings, she was UN-aware it was us lot returning as per last year...she knows now :thumbsup

The reason for the spank is that she needed to know that for catering purposes etc. For all she knew we'd be there for a function elsewhere, as often is the case in these small communities...so perhaps who ever posts these get togethers / RTE's really think as a courtesy we ought to tell the Publicans  Wife ;-*

Lastly, as we probably all have met each other at one point or another, we may have to share a room...((I certainly wont mind, nor will my octogenarian Mate (that was an easy decision, wasn't it! :wink1)...so if you do find your sharing a room with him, I found that if you give him a feed, 2 beers, an occasional nightcap of Port, you'll have no trouble tucking him in bed around 20:30 - 21:00 ;-*))...as she needs to keep 3 rooms free.

Cheers the can :-)

Booked in for the 24th, was told I got the last room, see yuse there sometime around 4:00pm.

Anyone want to ride a long way from Melbourne to Tungamah?  Something like this: http://goo.gl/maps/wVdLB (http://goo.gl/maps/wVdLB)
Like to leave St Helena around 10:00am, could be as late 11:00am if that's more suitable for others.  Lunch en route.

Found out today that I wont have to work this weekend, so was thinking of heading up to Tungamah Sat arvo. It all depends if there are any rooms or camping sites available in the town.

Anybody in the know?

I booked last week, was told I got the last room, probably worthwhile calling to check tomorrow though.  Somebody may have room / spare bed, not with us though - Mrs W wouldn't be too pleased.

Hi Guys and Gals,

As a few of us are leaving from Melbourne suburbs how about we meet at Glenburn Service station (on Melba Hwy) at about 1130. We may be able to get a few bikes riding together to make for a pleasant Afternoon.

This should also fit in with Williamsons plans, and I reckon stopping somewhere for a feed sounds great too.  ++

Let me know if your interested and I'll PM my Mobile to you.

Cheers,

Hendo

Another great overnighter at Tungamah Pub, thanks to our wonderful hosts and great ozstoc company.

Danny had a flat tire the night before so he ended up driving, All the time I was bagging him out, I ended up with a flat battery as I geared up and was about to head out. Ended up jumpstarting it and heading off a little late, I think I was last to arrive around 530pm great food great drinks and great conversation.

Thanks on and all.

Not sure about the "to" bit, but there was plenty of tripe talked at Tungamah, especially after the tongues were well lubricated with Carlton Draught and a Merlot of dubuious heritage.

Thanks to the organisers -  :clap :clap :clap

And thanks to Nigel and Hendo for the comapany of the way there - I can't believe yuse guys had never been through Tolmie & Whitfield before.

And, err, sorry 'bout the slippery gravel, pot holed track leading past ther Cheviot Tunnel.

Not sure I had chicken. Gotta say what a blast of a trip. Meeting up with fellow Ozstoc`ers at Glenburn for the ride in (or around) in this case, didn't realize I should have put the Knobbies on , never mind it was like my License test allover again didn't put my feet down so that's a pass. :eek. I did have a chuckle when we came out of the bush and Ppopeye rode past what he was thinking these guys are up too? :grin. Anyways, never been through Whitfield, didn't have a clue where I was, but was again a great learning curve.

Amber fluid was flowing well at the pub :beer, gotta say too that the Grub was great as were the hosts.
Good conversations were had by all and opportunity to meet and catch up with as many as I could was great. Nice to see too that the weather gods were shinning over us. Oh, and a special encouragement award for the locals. :crackup   Was that Spider-man hitting on Wonder woman or too many frothies?

Interestingly juiced up at Yea on return trip and my trusty mate was sipping fuel at 4.9/100  :thumb so happy with that . Having said that got home only to find a leaking left fork , quite badly , so into the shop for some love, :well not sure do this myself. All in all great trip and Lar Lah go get the CTX. :well  :wht11

A great get together as usual!  I did the trip the long way round, doing 2500kms. Much of that was due to a FarRide completed on Saturday, and a detour via Sunbury back to Canberra.

.... great tripe to tungamah....

All in all great trip and Lar Lar go get the CTX. :well  :wht11

Nice wrap up of the weekend Nigel, too bad about your fork! :|||| That may cost a bit yes? and yes I do hope I can get the CTX, sooner rather than later, hopefully I can ride with you guys when I do, then we can all be Ozstoc +1 CTX haha Wot thuh

Great weekend! Great company, great service, beautiful ride. So glad the weather held up!  :13Candy :runyay :grin

Great weekend as has been said. But. ST's coming out of a bush track.  I sure was confused.

Native Dog Road?  That's not a bush track:

Stick wiith us Gary, we'll show you some real bush tracks:

Having said that - I missed a turn-off, we U-turned, and then headed along some fast sealed roads, then the wet slippery clay of Frog Ponds Road, Cheviot Road and Native Dog Road.  I thought my stint as rider leader was over.  But I think Hendo and Nigel were lost, they thought I wasn't, so my leadership abilities weren't questioned any further.

Trust me, I know a short cut .........
