Plans have changed. Yeppoon will be over, christmas in July at Uralla will be over, so I will make it.  I will fit in visiting mum in Colac after and most likely sister in Bendigo and friends in Bendigo after.

So I will raise you 600kms or so...

I will hopefully be there if Doctor gives me clearance to travel. We will be on the way to Adelaide with Pearl and the caravan.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to ride Ruby for a few weeks more.

Ladies and Gents,
In williamsons absence i have come up with a route that may be more interesting than the western freeway for those coming from or through melbourne. I have not ridden the route so i cant guarantee a great ride. Im just crossing my fingers that there is no dirt/mud. :eek
For those interested please meet at macdonalds rockbank on the western freeway at 1030 for a 1045 departure.

Cheers,
Hendo

Ok, the weather Gods weren`t particularly shining on us but only in very short bursts, met up with Hendo68 aka (Darrin)  at maccas Rock bank for pleasant ride in. Nice scenic ride through to Buninyong via some great roads just in time for lunch. Nice to catch up with some familiar faces, and some interesting topics for discussion were on offer. Great meal, was had, as all huddled around the open fire.
Like all good things though, time gets away to quick, and it was time to go.
Darrin thought that a run down towards Little River was in order via a route around the You Yangs which made for more adventure for the return trip. All was good until section of dirt road was presented. "Its only 300 metres" And just on 3 K later we emerged, unscathed. Any ways, quick run down the freeway and home. Drizzle had long gone, and made for a nice bit of open riding. Well done and nice turn out. :wht11 :like

...not really, as the pic attached to this thread bears absolutely no sodding resemblance of just how flamin' cold and cloudy this bit of Victoria was on Sunday. Can we draw a line in the sand right here and now that from 1st of June  through to 31st of August all RTE's in Victoria be NORTH of the arse end on the Great dividing range please :thumb

The grub however, was both cheap and very well priced :-)

Cheers, the can :-)

It wasn't that cold once all the gear was on. I arrived back in Canberra to -3c temperatures but sunny.  Didn't even turn on the heated grips or seat for any of the trip to Colac-Sunbury-Bunninyong-Bendigo-Canberra but I did feel a bit warm every time I went inside for more than a few minutes..

...Yes John!  best part of a bottle of red and numerous whiskeys, scotches and bourbons the night before can have that effect of not needing additional warmth the day after...can't it ;-*

Ya gotta admit, the sunshine and a 50% increase in ambiant temp to the staggering heights of 12C around Castlemaine was better than flamin' Ballaarat (note correct spelling) :wink1

I could deny some of that, but it is true  ;-*

The ride back was good, as the sun was out. Temperatures went from 4 to 14c, the ice warning only came on for a while in the fog around Seymour.

'tis a bit cooler at night here at the moment, even compared to Bendigo
