ST1300 Thermostat O ring (gasket) leak

Hi brains trust,
2003 ST1300, I replaced the thermostat  (all genuine Honda) 2 years ago and at the same time replaced the O Ring (gasket), drained and replaced all fluids ect, approx 6 months later it started leaking from the O ring, only when engine is cold on warm up (until thermostat opens up), replaced O ring again for 2nd time, also this time using Permatex Blue RTV Silicone Gasket maker, now just finished a 8,000klm trip to Perth and again leaking from O ring ? only on warm up...  any suggestions, only thing I havn't checked or replaced is the Radiator Cap, could that be the culprit ?

Any help appreciated..
