Kev, our dogs like Schmackos.  You may have to add them to your shopping list as we don't want your new pal to get cancer from bacon,

Your life is just filled with little neighbourhood adventures!    :grin

What is this influence you have over the poor youths of Portland?  I recall accounts of an unfortunate phone carrying bicyclist who suffered under your sombre gaze.  I'm sure there were others...
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Bill, it was a young learner motorcyclist with the phone, and these are true stories. No one person could invent these adventures.
Maybe I am more aware of my surroundings, I live alone and therefore have more interaction with those around me instead of living in an isolated bubble? :p

Was chatting to the two girls in the flat next door ... They were the ones who dumped his garbage from their bin to his doorway.
According to their giggles, there is more to follow, yet. :Stirpot

Life Lessons... Some people are taught, others learn by experience. Some good, some bad.

so the dog proceeded to strain the recently ingested fluid through his kidneys, and liberally sprinkled the boots, within and without.

I entered my door, and grabbed a piece of bacon which was gratefully accepted by the dog. Hopefully this will be perceived by the Lab as a 'Do it again and get more rewards' type of feeling, which I encouraged by patting him profusely, and repeatedly telling him, "Good Dog!... Good Dog!"

 :grin

Oh my god that is such a beautiful story!

Now for part three .... or is it part four?

The girls have struck again! Tonight is bin night ... when I returned home from a trip to Casterton today, they have moved his bin to in front of his doorway before he returned from work. (HINT! HINT!) ... He now has a choice. Wheel it to the kerb for collection, or return it to the normal storage space.
10 metres either way... we shall see what happens....  :grin

Even I forgot the bin today. Lucky we live on a corner so I just took the thing around to the side gate.

Now how slack is this guy? He used a third option... He moved the bin about 3 feet away from his door, and it's still there... obviously its full, by the bags sticking out the top

THE TEST NOW IS TO SEE IF HE CAN DO THIS EACH WEEK... maybe he will at least make it two weeks in a row? ... hopefully?...
...without the need of a heads-up reminder, by planting his bin in the doorway?

the deal is you will need to place the bin out for him each week but like Bee's you can only move the bin a couple meters each time.

next week put the bins at the 6 meter mark, then 7 then 8 etc etcf.

Well, overall result is that he finally put the bin out for collection on Tuesday night..... but the job is still only half-done!

Maybe he expected the garbo to put the bin back? It's now Friday morning, 11.30 am, and the bin is STILL out on the footpath...

It might be a ploy to have it collected again next week, as it means only ONE trip to dump his garbage, not an extra TWO trips to move the bin out and back again.
