Where to put driving lights?
« on: January 16, 2020, 12:50:37 PM »
The STs that I have seen with driving lights generally have the lights mounted either above or below the mirrors.  I recently came across a site selling a mounting bracket for the ST that puts the lights down low near the brake calipers.

I'm wondering about the pros and cons.  I expect that the low position would produce more shadowing on an uneven or undulating road, and I also expect that being unsprung would treat the lights to a lot more vibration.  Are there any benefits to putting the lights down low?  Or is it just because it looks cute?

Generally, the lights down low are lower powered lights, used as Day time running lights, just better visibility. Driving light are mounted higher, as they then light more of the road ahead.

Thanks Brock.

Anyone know where I would look for the Police over-mirror mounting brackets?   Please don't tell me to look over the mirrors coz I've already checked there.  :grin

Ah thanks again.  I hadn't twigged that they are actually a standard Honda part.
