I'm Back ... from our holiday
« on: October 08, 2012, 03:53:15 PM »
Hi Guys (and gals),
Well I've just got back from our holiday to Thailand and Bhutan, and I have literally HUNDREDS of photos to churn through, but in the meantime I thought some of you might appreciate this one.

This is me snapped at the side of the road in Paro, Bhutan standing in a hedgerow that consists entirely of Marijuana. The stuff grows wild and although the government tried to make it illegal about 18 months ago they gave up and repealed the new law because there is simply too much of the stuff...it's literally everywhere! The schoolkids rub it between their hands whilst walking to school and thoroughly enjoy the morning! :grin

We met a bunch of Indian riders at the top of a 10,5000 pass between Paro and Thongsa, pictures to come, but one of them was riding a Royal Enfield, and it was still going strong!

Great to go away on holiday, but damm, it's good to get home!!
Cheers,
Paul

Hey Whizz, I guess it is bad business to be an arsonist in that part of the world. All the cops have to do is look for the dude thats flying as high as a kite after he hung around to inspect his handiwork.

About the Royal Enfield, are you sure it was an original? I had read somewhere that they had been reproducing them in India, similar to the American Willys Jeep. (Badged as MAHINDRA)

I didn't know that, I was just caught off guard by seeing the name on the side of the tank.

Yes, the hedges give a whole new meaning to the concept of a small brushfire  :cop :law :butt

The Enfields are used for many group rides by tour companies over there. They have even modernised the Enfield with elec ignition and such. You used to be able to buy them here.

Me thinks the Enfield has been made in India since the late 40's. Think they only come in the color Red from India, and they still make em.
