I saw this add on facebook and thought this might be of interest

The Servo Buddy is a small, lightweight solution that eliminates the need for the exhaust servo motor in your Honda (Sometimes called EXUP valve, Ex-up valve, or Set valve), which is not needed with any aftermarket exhaust system. Typically when you purchase an aftermarket exhaust, the servo motor controlling the restriction valve must remain connected, preventing the FI (fuel injection sometimes mistakenly called the F1) fault light from illuminating on the dash board. The Servo Buddy replaces this servo motor with a small, lightweight, and reliable alternative.

ST1300 does not have a servo motor, but the VFR1200 seems to.  Good to know that there is a solution out there though.
