Situated on the shores of Bancroft Bay in the heart of Gippsland Lakes, Australia's largest inland waterway, the village of Metung has been a premier resort area for nearly 200 years.

Is anyone staying at Metung?  I can make this a day ride, or stop somewhere overnight either there on the way back (perhaps going a longer way!).

Great choice for a RTE. It brings back memories from my youth. Regrettably, I won't be able to get there to catch up with you all.  I have to return to work from holidays this week and cannot see me being able to swing a Friday/Saturday OFF  :think1 to enable me to get down there and back. I am going to aim for the RTE to Tungamah.  :thumb

I may stay, it depends on if Wife decides to make the trip. If she chooses to graces us with her presence then we will overnight.

Ok, I will play it by ear then.  I can always go for a ride after lunch to Bright and stay there or Dederang pub.  Someone has to do it :)

Guys, Just letting you know unless the weather improves before the weekend I think I'm going to give this one a miss.

I think they were predicting flooding in some areas along the south east

Looks like rain is forecast all over from Canberra down to Metung, from Thursday on.

I think it might be an idea to formally pull the pin on this one, as apart from riding in the rain continually (which I have done) not being fun as such, the roads in might be risky. Lots of rain from Friday on, and reports of flooding in Gippsland as SES wait for rivers to peak.

After hearing about 100+mm rain in that area...I'm not keen at all to ride in that much rain

weather conditions  Ambient temperature on st was 11 to 14
