Hi Marcus,
Neil here, firstly thanks for organizing  the RTE to Wye River, Val & I had an enjoyable ride, that coast road will never be boring & winter is a good time to ride.
We did do a blog of our 2011 2up from Turkey to UK over 4 months, will hunt out the links and get them up in coming days, it was a brilliant ride and have to say our ST 1300 never missed a beat the whole time, absolutely the right bike for the job.
On the 2012 3 months from UK via Scotland, across to Scandinavia & up to Arctic circle then down thru Europe
to Spain & Portugal & back to the UK we didn't bother with the blog, we had used up all the known superlatives in 2011!!! All up about 38,800 km's plus Motorail, ferries and shipping, we would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Busy giving the beach house a new coat of paint at present, both heading off to NZ in November for a month of more ST1300 riding, that place is m/c heaven. Catching up with the bits we've missed on previous trips.
Cheers
Neil & Val

Hi Marcus,
To read the blog of our Turkey and beyond trip just google ; neilandval'stravels.blogspot.com.au/2011/04turkeybulgaria-etc
It's mostly there, we set off with an iPad that neither of us were familiar with and took some time to get ourselves a bit sorted. On re reading it it's all a bit of a shambles but you'll get the idea as you go.
The whole trip really was a step out of our comfort zones but we took it 1 or 2 days at a time and it worked out to be everything and more than we dreamt possible. If we found somewhere we liked or took up a locals suggestion to ride this particular road we did, if it was too touristy or was boring us s.....ss we headed out. Our departure date to Istanbul plus two nights in a budget hotel in Istanbul plus 1 night in Izmir when due to collect the bike, these were the only bookings we made, everything else was just winged. Achieved a great sense of freedom & adventure from being able to travel like that, never once had to sleep in a barn, under a hedge or ride all night.
You may want to check out a mates blog site as well, he sailed from Yaringa on Westernport Bay to Troon in Scotland, we met up with him at Dunvegin on Isle of Skye in NW Scotland in July 2012. Google; Scotfreecruising
Enjoy.
Cheers
Neil & Valerie
