I have a SHOEI full face for long rides and use an RXT Open Face for short commutes.

I have a Shark Evoline, and before that a HJC symax.  HJC feels more spacious, larger port. Shark feels like quality (but I got it half price). That tinted visor is really useful, used it first ride I did.  Sahrk is rated for both open face and full face, while the HJC is not.  I always wear earplugs these days (earmolds with sound and its own volume control).  Apart from plugginh into the autocom and various bits and pieces, the noise reduction and comfort on trips is invaluable.  I have a touch of ringing in my ears so don't want it to get worse (35years of bike riding without plugs and a few too many live concerts...)

At the end of the day go for what fits first. I tried a few other brands and they did not suit my head.

I'm a big fan of Shoei.  I like them because they fit my ugly mug.  Currently using the XR1000 full face and the Shoei Multitech.  I prefer the full face helmet as I find the Multitech too noisy (yep...I use ear plugs) and the ventilation isn't that flash.

I'm also a huge Shoei fan...............I have 3 of them..............an X Eleven (the best of them) in black............an RF1100 in white (good but not as well ventilated as the X Eleven), and a TZR in red, silver, grey & white...........all fantastic helmets. I actually brought the medium size TZR for my son to wear, second hand off EBay. I wouldn't normally do that but the photos supplied looked like it was in good nick. The helmet had only been worn once and is like brand new without a mark on it............

The X Eleven has now been replaced with the X Twelve.

I left the padding off, the speakers are small so not a problem check out the pic  :thumb
As far as the sharktooth :think1 I have no idea but wish you luck, if you get a Scala then I can help (although I had no issues with it at all  :) )

Shark Evoline 2...with the glow-in-the-dark stripes. It's a it noisy but very comfortable to wear, and I love the internal sunshade.

I use a Shoei full face, looked at the flip top head but found the a bit heavy and I found you get a lot of wind noise. I like the idea of the flip top, maybe the next gen. Of flip tops might be better :blk13 Cheers aj

Funny you should say that Couch.

Seeing as I'm the only male in a house with 4 x females ( Wife, 2 x Daughters and a Granddaughter) I've got into the habit of calling my jocks, my knickers.

WHY DO I FEEL THAT I SOULDN'T HAVE SHARED THIS WITH YOU LOT. Please prove me wrong.

Recently purchased an Aria Vector 2 for the wife for $650.
She loved the fit & colour in the shop.
Today we had a little jaunt down to Ayr & back (210kms).
She said it's quieter, comfier, lighter, has a wider viewing angle and more airflow than her RJays.
She also commented that the severity of buffeting is reduced.
That reminds me - Will have to get another screen one day to stop that buffeting  >:(

As my evoline 2 was trashed in my recent doing by a cage driver, I will replace it with a 3 version which they reckon is quieter.
