Distance on an ST (either / both)
« on: November 27, 2014, 05:57:33 PM »
OK guys, I know there are some fairly dedicated riders out there and then there are the ones like me that clock up the miles back and forth to work. Often the latter spends more time in the saddle. I have just past my 100,000kms since buying the ST 4 1/2 years ago. I am interested in some of the long term riders and total kms they have accumulated. Also if this is mainly commuting or long distance not to mention the highest kms with the same engine.
Cheers,
A.

First ride was about 1000kms back home after picking up bike from Bendigo. Then mainly to/from work stuff for the next 9 months so inc weekends etc around 600km a week. From May 2006 until end of October 2010 would have been a total of 110,000 km (24,000 a year) since being back in SA add 40,000 or about 10,000 km a year.

At the moment bike has done 168,000 km of which 157,000 are mine with untouched motor over 8.5 years.

There are at least two ways I could take that!  ;-*  ;-*

Previous year   18582.2 Ks. 16.68 Ks/Litre

Would that be because you did a greater proportion of RTEs to commuting after getting involved with OzSTOC?

Android Drivers Log 2014 total was 12600 km, 610 litres and $1112.14 or 9 cents/K with a yearly average of 16.87 K/L

Other combined expenses of 17 cents/K added to the fuel gave a 26 cents/K

From the spreadsheet 2013 was a lot different due to some high cost repairs and less km for the year

But 7734 km, 460.88 Litres and $671.93 or less than 9 cents/K but with all the other costs added on top gave a total of 34 cents/K.

I have only done 145,000kms of the 213,000kms on the ST1100 over 9 years, so not that bad. I did waste a lot of time at work for 6 of those years though!  The last year does not count as they are non-ST kms.

Nope Biggles, RTE's havent affected the Ks much. I was fewer Ks last year due to using the car to go to work during winter, wont drive the Freeway in the dark and rain on the bike, too dangerous.
