Greetings from Phillip Island
« on: August 07, 2020, 09:08:19 PM »
I bought my first ST1100 in 2001.  It was a 1994 ex-police bike.  I sold it in 2009 and have regretted it ever since.  Anyway, I recently purchased an unregistered 1995 (non-ABS) model which I plan to put on club plates in September - COVID19 restrictions permitting.

I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations regarding tyres?  I am a fan of Michelin Road Pilot tyres, but they no longer make anything in the recommended sizes for the ST1100.  Has anyone tried using the ST1300 size tyres on a non-ABS ST1100 (slightly wider with a slightly lower profile)?  How did that go?

Cheers for now.

G'day Mal Percy, welcome to the forum and congrats on the ST :hatwave

As for the tyres, I believe Brock has used the ST1300 size Michelin Pilot Road tyres on his ST1100 :thumbsup

Cheers

Hi Mal,

Welcome from a place you shall not pass into ( at least for a while). I'm in Nairne in the Adelaide Hills, SA.

My ST1100 is ABS, but I've gone with Dunlop Roadsmart 3 on it, as well as my ST1300. Good mileage, grip and comfort.

Greetings Mal.

Nobody makes the original sized tyres for the 1100 any more, however There are PR4 sizes available just ask your local tyre shop.

Welcome from St Helena, VIC Mal.

Re. tyres, OzSTOC member Denis and his ST1100 are on the Island, he'll be along soon with some advice on what to get and where to get 'em locally.
