The troops are still gradually arriving "back in the shed", as they say in the IBA.
My SPOT indicated a weak battery on the way down, but was still reporting transmissions to the satellite.
I changed the batteries (ridiculously expensive AAA Lithiums, must be Everyready) so the map only shows the trip home.

Same as Lionel's except for the times.

If anyone with good nerves wants to see how to get through peak hour Sydney traffic on a m/c, tee up a session with Lionel.    :eek     :whistle

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I got fed up with changing batteries in the camera (4 x AA) so bought the Energiser Recharger pack (included  4 x AA) from the local supermarket. The camera has a discharge function in it so batteries are flat before being recharged. And it also does AAA. I just need to buy another set of batteries to have on hand.

Well done to all.......

Well done to all, :thumbs  sorry I couldn't give a running report today, have been inundated with call outs and have only been home long enough to grab a bite at lunchtime. Came in the door about 5 mins ago, but at least I can say I have an extra 8 computers running clean in town today. Shame they are all freebies, I could be a rich man, lol.

Many thanks to TJ for putting this together and for ST2UP and Pockey, Streak and Diesel for supporting the idea.  I believe there were other names active in the background and I thank them all for their help.

This is not something I would have attempted by myself, but as a group it was a good introduction.

Thanks to all the experienced LD riders for their advice and tips along the way.  Every little piece of information was valuable and put to good use.

I had planned to try and do this one with only fuel stops, apart from bug guts in the eye making it impossible to see and another brief stop to plug the phone into the charger, I achieved my aim.  The only time I was stationary for then a couple of minutes was to refuel, scoff a Museli bar or two drink water and toilet at my three fuel stops along the route.

The last 100 km was the hardest, as the roads deteriorated and the speed limits were painfully slow.

But done now, time to sleep and dream.
Cheers,
Gary
